Johnstone Paints Trophy game once again hit by the snow
Tranmere Rovers' Johnstone Paints area semi-final game against Huddersfield Town has once again been postponed due to the weather.
Tranmere Rovers called in a local referee to perform an early pitch inspection on Tuesday morning, and he deemed the pitch unplayable due to the icy conditions on the playing surface.
The game was originally set to take place last Tuesday, 30th November, but was postponed due to snow and ice as the "Big Freeze" first hit the country.
With the weather having not lifted, the game has once again been postponed and now re-arranged for Tuesday 14th December, one week after the second postponement. The fixture will once again be a 7.45pm kick off at Prenton Park.
This is the third match in two weeks that Tranmere have had postponed due to the weather, losing their game against Exeter at the weekend due to a frozen pitch, whilst the club have only trained outdoors once in the last two and a half weeks.
Another postponement does however give Rovers the chance to get the likes of Marlon Broomes and Enoch Showunmi fit for the clubs League One clash against Leyton Orient on Saturday, should the game be able to go ahead.
