Young Rovers Pair Head to Wales on Loan

Rovers youngsters Max Power and Jack Mackreth have gone out on loan to Welsh based Evo-Stik Premier Division side Colwyn Bay for a month long period in a bid to gain first team experience as they currently look to push for a first team place at Tranmere in the near future.....
As Rovers continue to suffer from a lack of games due to the current cold snap, two youngsters from the fringes of the first team have been sent out on loan to gain all-important first-team experience as they look to push into Tranmere's first team as soon as possible.
Midfielders Max Power and Jack Mackreth have joined Welsh based Evo-Stick Premier Division side Colwyn Bay on a month long loan deal each to work under former Rovers defender Dave Challinor who is currently Manager at Llanelian Road.
The move sees Mackreth visit his second club on loan this season having played for Burscough earlier this season, whilst Max has had a number of matches on the bench for the first team.
The pair become the third and fourth players from Rovers to go on loan to Colwyn Bay in recent seasons, following inthe footsteps of Ash Taylor and Josh Macauley.
Spekaing on the Colwyn Bay FC Official Website, Dave Challinor said....
"I'd like to thank Les Parry and Shaun Garnett at Tranmere for allowing us to take both Jack and Max. They are both young lads who are highly thought of and are really keen to prove themselves. Both have been involved with the first team squad and we can hopefully provide them an opportunity to play first team football at a very competitive level and I'm sure they'll do very well for us."
"Jack has experience of this level having been on loan at Burscough earlier in the season and whilst it will be a new experience for Max, I'm sure he adapt with no problems as he is a very good footballer with all the attributes to go a long way in the game. Hopefully they can have a similar impact to what Ash Taylor did when he came here a few seasons ago and, similarly, go back to Tranmere and get themselves involved in the first team there."
Unfortunately for the pair, Bay's home game against North Ferriby United yesterday was postponed like many other around the country including Tranmere, due to the bad weather so both may well make their debuts now away at Nantwich Town on Monday 27th December.

What with all the emergency loans like Wotton, Lateef, Mantom and Gulacsi, there's been a little more wage expense than perhaps Les would have liked, so a few quid back in to stabilise the expenses a bit is always welcome.
