Tranmere Help Launch of Marie-Curie Football Week

Tranmere Rovers have this week teamed up with the Football League to help launch the Marie Curie Football Week aimed at raising funds and awareness of the charity through the medium of football......
Tranmere Rovers have announced that they are proud to join the Football League in launching Marie Curie Football Week this week.
All 72 Football League clubs are preparing to team up in a united week of action to raise awareness and vital funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care – The Football League’s Official Charity Partner for the 2010/11 season.
From March 7th to March 14th, the whole of The Football League will show its support for the charity which provides care, free of charge, to terminally ill patients in their own homes.
Across the seven days, every League club's Manager will wear the iconic Marie Curie Cancer Care daffodil pin for their dedicated Marie Curie Football Week home game and media interviews. Clubs will also hold matchday collections for the charity and a host of other fundraising activities.
For their part, Tranmere will hold a collection at the home game against Bristol Rovers on Tuesday 8th March, kick off 7.45pm.
With a fundraising target for the 2010/11 season of £500,000, Marie Curie Football Week is key in generating the funds the charity needs to deliver free nursing care in every Football League community throughout England and Wales.
