Henry Becomes First Centre-Midfielder of the Decade......

After our closest vite so far, the results are in for our first Tranmere centre-midfielder of the decade as Nick Henry joins the other players who have so far made the team......
After a week of your votes, it has been decided that Nick Henry is the first of two cnetral midfielders to be entered into our Tranmere Rovers TTeam of the Decade (2000’s) , becoming the eighth player to make the team.
As you can see from the poll results below it was one of the closest votes we have had so far but the winner with 32% of the vote was Nick Henry....

A Rovers player for just years during the 2000's but who joined the Club in July of 1999, Henry's time at Rovers coincided with the most memorable period of the Club's recent history as two seasons of Cup giant-killings saw a number of Premier League sides fall against John Aldridge's team.
During those runs, Henry scored a couple of similar and spectacular goals against both West Ham United in the FA Cup and perhaps slightly more memorably, the first goal of the League Cup semi-final second leg against Bolton which put Rovers 2-0 up on aggregate in a two-legged tie they eventually won 4-0.
After spending ten years at his first Club Oldham Athletic, between 1987 and 1997 including a spell in the newly formed Premier League, Henry joined Sheffield United in February 1997 for £500,000 and after a loan spell at Walsall, remained with the Bramall Lane club for just over two years before signing for John Aldridge's Tranmere.
After the success at Rovers, Henry moved on to Scarborough whom he later managed after retiring from the game.
Henry will always be remembered for those two wonder goals in the Cups but his performances including the game at Wembley in 2000 against Leicester have made him a memorable player amognst the fans.

In the next week we will be voting for the remaining contendersfrom this weeks closed poll and at the end of the week the winner will be revealed and placed in the Dream Team. alongside Nick Henry in central midfield.
