Jennings Wins FL Apprentice of the Year Award

At last night's Football League Awards, Rovers youngster Dale Jennings scooped the League One Apprentice of the Year award ahead of some more well known names.....

Tranmere's young striking sensation Dale Jennings was named Apprentice of the Year for npower League 1 at the Football League Awards 2011 last night.

The 18-year old beat off competition fromthe much sought after and highly valued, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Southampton as well as MK Dons' George Baldock to win the honour at a ceremony at The Brewery, London.

Jennings, in his first season as a professional after joining the Club at the age of 16, has scored five times in 21 league appearances this season and has won a number of Man of the Match awards as well as winning the Club's vote for the best goal of 2010 for his solo strike against Plymouth Argyle.

Total Tranmere would like to say well done to Dale and all the youth and other staff at Tranmere Rovers for this much deserved award.

yeah well done Dale ! and the coaching staff that have worked with himj, they have him so well focused on his game ! not the lad that arrived from Lpool at all ! matured in to a great prospect

It should give a boost to Dale's confidence but lets hope it also encourages him to sign the extension that he has ben offered

Signing the extension would be good for him and the club. He deserves this and hopefully it will benefit the club all round, as it could be seen as an overall positive, not just a positive for him.
