The recent Rovers home match against Colchester United saw the latest edition of the Tranmere Rovers Fanzine ‘Give Us an R’ go on sale and once again Total Tranmere brings you a sneak preview of what to expect in this latest issue which you can pick up at the away trip to Oldham on Monday night....

As Rovers prepared to take on Colchester United at Prenton Park last week, the game also provided Rovers fans with the first opportunity to buy the latest edition of the Tranmere Fanzine ‘Give Us an R', the sixth issue of this season so far.
The front cover which is in full colour as ever, features Tranmere’s nearly-man striker Adam McGurk in action at Prenton Park whilst the inside of the front cover celebrates the recent tenth anniversary of the 4-3 comeback victory over Southampton in the FA Cup in the form of a full page poster.
The four recent away games at Swindon, Plymouth, Peterborough and Brentford are featured in the regular away days write ups with both Exeter, Charlton and Brighton to be included in a future edition as the number of recent away games has of course been so high due to postponements earlier in the season.

The regular contributions of the Doctor (Editorial) and Total Tranmere's very own Deadly Submarine are in also featured once more alongside the regular ‘Anorak Quiz’ which asks you to identify five photographs of Football League Grounds from more obscure angles with the answers in the following issue each time.
Following on from the feature in the last issue about a group of fans visiting Germany to watch St Pauli, this current edition follows the adventures of Trevor Jones who spent a few days last summer visiting Norway and taking in a number of matches at different Stadia during their league season (which runs in the summer months unlike over here). The feature, titled ‘Scandinavian Odyssey’ makes for an interesting read indeed.
Other interesting features in the current issue include a look at Rovers’ recent record in London away games particularly in relation to refereeing performances in certain games in the Capital and also a feature on our full ten-year record at Brighton’s Withdean Stadium as we last week said goodbye to our trips there for the final time ahead of their move to a new Stadium for next season.

This edition ends with a number of small features which all involve negative aspects related to Rovers starting with a review of a book called ‘Football’s Giant Killers – 50 Great Cup Upsets’ which doesn’t include any of Rovers achievements in our recent history.
The ‘In Black and White’ section which always looks at Rovers related items from local and national media looks at a feature from ‘When Saturday Comes’ which looked back at Division One (now the Championship) from the 2000/01 season in which Rovers were of course hoplessly relegated and depressingly includes the final League table from that season.
The final two features of this issue include a rant at the ‘support’ from home fans at Prenton Park in recent games in comparison with away games and also a look back at the disappointment of the Yeovil discounted game which saw Rovers’ attendance doubled but a terrible on pitch performance. Something which seems to happen a lot at Prenton Park.
On the inside back cover, the ‘Yesterday's Heroes' features a full colour photo of Alan Rogers to round another interesting issue of ‘Give Us an R’.
Priced at just £2.00, Give Us an R is is well worth a read and can be purchased at all Rovers games. Dave can be found selling the mag outside the visitor's turnstiles at all away games and for home games is usually standing on the patch of wasteground alongside the entrance to the Main Club Car Park (under the sign advertising the next three home matches at Prenton Park) so if you have never purchase it before why not give it a try?
Dave will be selling the latest issue at the away match in Oldham this Monday as well as at the home game against Huddersfield and at Sheffield Wednesday away the following week.
