Tranmere Rovers host high-flying and in-form Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon in N Power League One, so for all the latest news and match updates, and all the pre, during and post-match discussion, don't forget to check out our Match Discussion thread............

For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the high number of costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.
The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match analysis.
Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game.

Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.

Cressa ain't been as good recently for me, and Robbo can take set pieces better than average, still a young lad so no harm in a rest.
The main reason I chose Zoom is because Huddersfield have bags of pace!
Main thing tomorrow is we don't just hoof the ball to one man - so frustrating.

I definitely can't argue with what Mikey's put above in terms of the team!
However I feel it's more likely to be Wood than Blanchard when the teamsheet comes out.

Well to be fair we had a go today but the difference in terms of quality between the two defences and attacks was massive.
Thought we were the better team until they scored in the first half, there wasn't much in it and they had the best chance when Ward put it wide but we did ok up until the final third. The defending for their first was awful, nobody closed down Roberts who had ages to dink in a cross.
Second half we pressed again without really troubling the keeper. Enoch put in a great cross, not sure how Mcgurk missed it, but that was a big chance. Again the defending for their second goal was horrendous, we just seemed to stop.
We did ok today except in both areas and that is obviously what counts. Going forward really is a problem for us, we have no creativity at all and now haven't scored in our last two.
Just to say Robbie Weir was absolutely shocking today. Gave it away countless times, poor control, to me he just chases shadows and I do not want him to sign permanently, he isn't good enough.
So with two away games coming up now I think we will be in the bottom four before long. What annoys me is Les knew this was going to be tough so why the hell did he not try and win the game against Oldham? I fear the worst I am afraid, we have not real quality at either end of the pitch, and our form is terrible whilst those below us have momentum.

I thought Weir was decent to be honest, I'd take him right now and ship out Akins.
If we attacked like we did today (in spells) versus Oldham we'd of won 4-0 on Monday.
Also WTF do the scout reports say? "Huddersfield have two massive centre backs" and then Les, with all his wisdom, "HOOOF"

Yeah was really annoying that, Mccombe is massive but the ball was constantly put in high.

Interesting lee clark comments saying they knew there would be no football on that pitch and he instructed them to get it up top as quick as possible. I thought we played the better football today just lacking a goalscorer.
Mcgurk chance was the turning point 1-1 and on top if he could convert from a yard!
Still a better performance against a side who could afford to name Rhodes/Lee/Novak on their bench!!!!!

i thought we werent the worst but the lack of quality in the final third was telling, there is no'one with any kind of spark up there and we are just hoping to hold the ball up or rely on knock downs.
Jennings played off Showumni today and spent half the game on his @#$%& (again), i dont know what it is with him lately but maybe hes starting to believe his own hype. He needs to remember hes only a kid and try and still learn. Unfortunatly it says it all when our only creative spark is a 19 year old who wasnt even in the reserves at the beginning of the season. God knows where we would have been now if he hadnt started the season well.
I didnt expect anything from the game today and have to say i wasnt suprised when we didnt.

Ricci, I think you are totally wrong about Weir. He works really hard and has very good control. I would have him in our team definitely and much prefer him in midfield rather than in the other positions that Les has put him in. He is capable of playing in a number of defensive positions and is an intelligent player. I say, 'keep him'. He certainly has more desire to play than Jennings who was hugely disappointing again with his sulky attitude.

It was better than the recent games, however we are showing no creativity and again have no Plan. I don't think there keeper had a shot to save. I honestly think we play as "Hope" team. Kick and hope it lands right. I have to blame the Manager as things are predictable and orthodox. Relegation battle looms I think.

Definitely right on the hit and hope team, the only times we look dangerous is when we chase long balls down. Not sure about the relegation battle looming, we have been in one since the first ball was kicked.

bit harsh on us there thats hudders 3rd straight clean sheet as well. The moment of the match was mcgurks tap in, that go's in we had a great chance of picking up points.
We have some fantastic balls going into the box every week if we had a lambert/fletcher striker they would be getting 15-20 goals a season.

I'm not overly happy with the referee. Tranmere get 3 yellows for 7 fouls and they get none for 18 fouls and the offisde should have been given as well.
I'm not overly sure if the supposed no penalty for Enoch, was a clearcut no either.
Having said that, Les needs to start realising the forward play is not good enough at times.
It really bites because the back 5 is very good. Prior to this game, all the 18 games played this year, resulted in 5 clean sheets, 8 games with 1 open goal in, 2 of which however did have a penalty and an own goal in, then 5 where they conceded more than 1 open goal.
That's now including this game 22 conceded from 19 and 14 from the last 15. For me that's got be potentially as good as the top 4 sides.
Signing Kay has been very beneficial. McChrystal has really been a good replacement for Broomes and Tony Warner has been the best keeper this season and for me probably the best since Les took over and players like Gulacsi, Collister and Daniels are all good keepers.
Les needs to start realising that playing the ball on the pitch is a better idea, than just just route one over the top football. Tranmere have the ability to get more goals, but they won't if he persists in his inconsistent style.
Had he done this today, I think it could have been 1-1 and games like Yeovil, Oldham and Bristol Rovers would have been 3 pointers.

agony, mcgurk has got an eye for a goal????? he hasnt scored yet and more than likely never will for us.
We have now won 1 in tema and in that time have score 5 goals, if we dont turn things around soon we are going to get relegated.
I cant see us getig much in the next 2 game wich will leave the dagenham game as a massive must win

Jennings just did not look fit,he was handled all game,Akins would have given us more height against them,we were hoofing the ball down theleft & the defender(18) won it every time.If it's not working, the players on the pitch should be trying something else,you can't just blame the manager.Weir made a couple of mistakes,but he still troubled them,he thinks what he's doing unlike some players who just can't think,the scoreline flattered Huddersfield,and the ref couldn't seem to get his card outfor them,even when they were bringing us down deliberately

Can't understand how anyone can think Weir had a good game, he was shocking. McBerk's miss sums up his attacking credentials and Jennings just didn't seem interested.
Apart from these three I thought we did surprisingly well with no Goody or Robbo against what is obviously a strong team but who didn't really impress me as promo candidates.
Even Taylor did ok apart from their 2nd. In the back four the lad can hold his own, it is when he is in front of them his inability to pass a ball is shown up.
Like the idea of Jenno playing off Nucky as long as he gets motivated first.
All in all the result was as expected but the performance an improvement.
Finally their fans...ok made a bit of noise now and again but imagine what we would sound like taking 2500 away! They were@#$%&I thought

I travel from Southport to each home match. generally Rovers play well even though goals are often missed but why do Rovers have the laziest player in League ! in the team Enoch SHOWUNMI. He is supposed to be a figurehead. When the ball comes to him he is so gangly that he can't control it When the ball goes to our end you see him strolling back to somewhere in midfield, I don't think he knows where. When he tries to head the ball it has no direction. Why was it that a smaller defender from Huddersfield was able to jumo higher than him It is so obvious that the rest of the team have no confidence in him.If they did we would get goals. Get a decent centre forward who can score goals. On another tack . Why doesn't Les be more demonstrative and encourage players. Look at Lee Clark yesterday he never stopped shouting and encouraging.Enthusiasm is catching but Les you can't say you were satisfied with the team yesterday. We didn't take advantage of our chances and score goals. Supporters are getting fewer. Huddersfield fans rightly chanted "we have more supprters than you."

I agree with you over John Welsh but Enoch. You must have had mud in your eyes. Enoch is the one who doesn;t know how to score goals. Why Jennings has started to play off him means Dale doesn't get the ball often. When they used Dale as target man Rovers scored good goals from his skill

Enoch is the most hardest working player this team has, and as for "doesn't know how to score goals" - well Colchester, Charlton, Plymouth and Walsall away show how composed and cool he can be when through on goal, Notts County away was an example of "right place right time"
If he got any service he would get 20, but as it is, stranded up front alone it is going to be tough.
And I hate this "he's big so he must be good at heading the ball" - it's so untrue. Ian Hume was small but had a brilliant leap and header. Their is no correlation between heading ability and height IMO - you can either head it or you can't, no matter if you're 6ft4 or 5ft8.

Sandstorm, Enoch has gotten 11 goals this season and 7 assists, which has helped the team to get 18 goals this season in 45 games.
Heading aside, that gives him a combined ratio of 2.5, so I don't know what sort of striker you're thinking of, but it can't be Enoch. Maybe you're thinking of Bas Savage, as he's not been highly productive at Dagenham, though useful here and there.

Enoch is a top player. Just need to stop Les and his hoof ball to him all the time. Let's get the ball wide and let him attack the ball instead of always trying to win the ball for us.........................

Thought Huddersfield did enought to win, we played better than of late but never worried their keeper, I too noticed Les's lack of animation on the touchline, the game was crying out for someone creative, on the odd occasion we played the ball forward along the ground it tended to go to the opposition or in the opposite direction to were the forwards had run. Enoch for me worked his socks off for once, Robbie Weir did OK, at least he tried to keep it on the deck but there seemed to be no understanding between him and the forwards. Dale is starting to look out of his depth sadly, realy had high hopes for him, he is too easily pushed off the ball and goes to ground too quickly. I can only hope Robbo's fit for tomorrow night, think Les will be looking for a point so don't expect us to attack. Going down to Bournmouth on Saturday, got a strange feeling we will win.
Our league status is in our own hands, we probably need another 8 points from our last 4 homegames, Notts,Orient,Daggers and Swindon, if we can pick up a few points on our travels so much the better, i'm more concerned with what we are going to have to put up with next season, love Les to bits but can't see him continueing next seasson, back to the sponge I think.

Couldnt make the match because of flu but wasnt surprised by the result.
When Les first found that Alliyu would not be returning on loan
from west Brom. Les should have tried harder to obtain another forward capable of supporting Enoch Showumni, because although he has run his socks off for the team all season he has always lacked a forward that could offer him some support up front (someone like say Kay) Alliyu did offer some support by taking a defender away but when lateef didnt return that bit of firepower that he had provided also disapeared with him. You look at whats on the bench each week and wonder were the goals can come from. Can someone please get the magic wand out as we now need it,

So decent outlets for assists and goals. There's enough for me to show Tranmere have the potential to get a few. Perhaps even Stockton might get one or two sub games before the end of the season, but I doubt that will be necessary.
