Les Post-Match: The Lads Gave Everything

After Tranmere lost 2-0 at home to Huddersfield Town at Prenton Park this afternoon in League One, Rovers Boss Les Parry was disappointed not to have got something from the game.....

After seeing his side fall to a 2-0 defeat at home to in-form and high-flying Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon, Rovers Manager Les Parry expressed his disappointment at not getting something from what was a at times a tight game.

Speaking earlier to Tranmere Player, Parry said....

"The lads gave everything and it was a really good game.  We probably edged the first half and were unlucky to come in behind, but I can't criticise the lads."

"We'd been working all week on stopping crosses so it was a bit disappointing that the first goal came from one.  But when it comes you've got to deal with it. There were bodies everywhere so I don't even know how it went in."

"For the second goal, their lad coming from an offside position, stepping over the ball and taking two of our lads with him with a dummy, their lad goes through...there's something wrong with the laws of the game if that's right. It's got to be offside."

"Cresser has again put some great balls in and we've got to get on the end of them.  I don't know how Adam missed.  But we've got to deal with it, these things happen. We missed a chance, make another one.  We should have got something out of the game."

Meanwhile Huddersfield Manager Lee Clark was full of praise for both his players and the fans who filled the Cowshed stand and part of the Johnny King Stand for the game.

Speaking to the Huddersfield Town Official Website, Clark said.....

I didn't expect any football on this pitch today - it was all about the players doing the right thing at the right times, which they did."

"It was about being professional - it was very hard to play football today, the lads couldn't get the ball down due to the rough nature of the pitch. It was important that we got the ball wide and up top to Benik Afobe quickly this afternoon.  The lads are making massive contributions - again the defenders were magnificent, five clean sheets in a row is something to be very proud of."

"Peter (Clarke) and Jamie (McCombe) have been fantastic today - to have a player like Sean Morrison sat on the bench speaks volumes about how well they are playing. Sean is fit to play - he is desperate to get out there but I can't change those two centre backs at the moment."

"The fans were magnificent today - we want to be successful together. They will play a big part from now until the end of the season, they will have to stay patient with us though because over the next few games there will be times when moments don't go our way.

"Next Saturday's game against Peterborough is mouth-watering. They are a fantastically attacking team who will prove very tough to beat."
