Tranmere Manager Les Parry was delighted with his side's 4-0 home win over play-off chasing Exeter City in N Power League One on Monday afternoon thanks to goals from Michael Kay, Enoch Showumni and Lucas Akins (x2)...

Speaking to Tranmere Player, Parry said...

"What was most pleasing was that the performance was for 90 minutes.  We played exceptionally well in the first half and I was praying that we didn't do what we normally do and take our foot off the gas in the second half, and we didn't."

"I don't know where Michael dragged the first goal from.  Left foot, cut inside and he just stamped it.  I said to the lads at half time that I was disappointed we were only 1-0 up. But I knew if we carried on playing that way there would be goals."

Parry Les

"They like to play a lot of football so we wanted them to kick it long because they haven't got much height up front. That worked well.

"We've been taking the mick out of Lucas saying he was trying to control it!  It was a great finish. It went in in slow motion. I was praying for the lad because he gives us everything that it didn't bounce over the bar."

Parry also revealed that Enoch Showunmi could need an x-ray on his leg after coming off injured late in the game.

Thought this was a miss quote when I saw this but when I watched it on Tranmere player that's exactly what he said. Sorry to be pedantic Les but the performance was for 90 minutes plus injury time.winking smiley
