Two Welsh Trips Added to Growing Friendly List

With the season now behind us, the pre-season friendly schedule for Rovers is already taking shape and today another two friendly matches, both away in Wales, have confirmed meaning that five matches have now been unveiled so far.......
After our announcement earlier this week that three of Tranmere's pre-season matches ahead of the
2011/12 campaign had already been confirmed, we can today announce a fourth addition to the list with two Welsh away trips to newly promoted Colwyn Bay FC managed by former Rovers player Dave Challinor and to Aberystwyth Town.
So
far, we had already revealed that Rovers will face two local away trips to freshly promoted Chester FC
and Altrincham FC as well as a home match against a Manchester United XI
in late July and the addition of the trips to Colwyn Bay on Friday 15th July (kick off TBC) and to Aberystwyth Town on Friday 22nd July (kick off 7.00pm) now makes that total six.
A young Rovers side made the trip to the Deva Stadium during the 2010 pre-season campaign and sadly fell to defeat whilst a slightly longer trip to Altrincham has become almost customary in recent seasons in the build up to yet another new season.

The home game against Manchester United will most likely feature youth and extreme fringe players from the Premier League Champions elect due to the fact that the first team are on a tour of the U.S.A at the time of the match against Tranmere but it is a different team to face than recent pre-season campaigns and many fans will look forward to it.
Rovers have played Colwyn Bay on an almost regular basis in recent pre-season campaigns and had an association with Aberystwyth Town who have loaned Rovers youngsters in the recent years.
The friendlies announced so far are....
Tuesday 12th July: Chester FC (A) - Kick Off 7:00pm
Friday 15th July: Colwyn Bay (A) - Kick Off TBC
Friday 22nd July: Aberystwyth Town (A) - Kick Off 7.00pm
Saturday 23rd July: Altrincham (A) - Kick Off 3:00pm
Wednesday 27th July: Manchester United XI - Kick Off TBC

They usually announce them after we already know most of them Mike. That's usually the way.
(Only joking - in all seriousness its a hell of a lot better than it was 3 years or so ago when it was terrible imo - a massive improvement now
