McGurk Puts Pen To Paper On One-Year Deal

Young striker Adam McGurk signs new one-year contract with Tranmere Rovers for the 2011/12 season.....
Tranmere striker Adam McGurk has put pen to paper on a new one-year deal with the club, whilst the contract also contains a one-year option, meaning Rovers can extend the deal by an extra year if they wish.
The 22-year old joined Tranmere in August 2010 and after a successful trial, which included an impressive display in a pre-season friendly against Liverpool, he signed a one-year deal with the club.
However, a frustrating run of injuries, which had been the reason behind Aston Villa releasing the Northern Ireland U21 international as youngster seriously restricted the amount of first team action that McGurk saw, and as a result he only started one game before April.
The penultimate month of the season was the turning point for the striker though, as McGurk scored his first goal for the club on 9th April against Bournemouth, coming off the bench to score a stunning winner in injury time, before he netted twice against Leyton Orient in a 3-0 victory in the final game of the month.
Following his three goals in April, there was an air of confidence and positivity surrounding the striker, and many fans will be pleased that the talented former Aston Villa trainee has signed a new deal, and will be hopeful he can push forward next season.
