Good news for Jamacia but tranmere need a fit Goodie next season

doesn't mean he will play...

Great news for Goody but I can honestly only see this being a team influence move in having him there as part of the squad to boost spirit and experience?

Why wouldn't they play him?

He's still one of the best central defenders in league 1. I don't know what competition he has for a starting place in the Jamaica team but I bet he plays.

I'm a bit surprised because I thought he'd packed in the national team.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

Does this mean we're not likely to see him until October at the earliest or has Les made arrangements to have him crated up and sent back to Birkenhead in time for pre-Season training?

Nobody normally knows where he is until the day before the first game, then he turns up and has a blinder.

No he didn't. Tappa decided as he himself was too old to play that so was Pepe and basically retired him against his will. I think Tappa was trying to force Pepe into coaching there instead but failed. Followed by Barnes as "manager" who dropped everyone good for us! Fans were not too impressed and the fact Jamaica's defence has been appalling of late and there have been some disciplinary issues with some of the squad, the fans have been calling for Pepe to be recalled, an increasingly louder call over the last 6 months or so. Tappa has finally listened! He's also recalled Omar Daley & Tyrone Marshall. They will play, Tappa would not recall them otherwise. Why the JFF sacked Tappa and installed Barnes who failed in every way possible is beyond me, under Tappa we were about to actually qualify for the world cup 2010, The JFF wanted a big name instead, pulled Barnes in, made Tappa the reserve team manager and I think the next game we won having failed to qualify for the WC, and then the Gold cup by this time was after Barnes had finally been kicked into touch and Tappa rightly reinstalled!! Set Jamaican football back years those awful few months we were lumbered with Barnes *shudder*

Those worried he may not be back on time for the season, he's not back until mid July anyway, 2 weeks or so min after the competition finishes. As for worrying about his fitness, well at least he's not sat on a beach in Marbella sinking a few pints, he's actually training and keeping himself fit!!! There is a risk of injury of course but then he could get the same having a kick about with his sons in his back yard at home. And lets face it Pepe would carry on playing with a broken bone!

The man is buzzing right now, he's like a kid on Christmas morning and he has a renewed interest in the game because of it. You will benefit from that next season!!

As for me I'm happy for him, not impressed I will will now be sat watching some grainy live stream of the games at silly O'Clock but hey ho!!

Far to many, it's kind of wiped out my memory now because it was giving me nightmares, so its a repressed thought

June to October I think though, in all seriousness! 5 months that is, 5 months too long!

I think Barnes still might sometimes, be replaying that cup defeat to Caledonian Thistle from some years ago, in his mind and wondering if it was better or worse than the 5-0 against Millwall, so he could possibly say his worst game in charge of a team wasn't Millwall.
