With the two play-off games affecting the League One line-up for 2011/12 now completed, Rovers fans based in and around the Wirral area will have to travel far less mileage to travel next season as the swing from Southern to Northern Teams in League One takes a dramatic turn for the better.

In total Rovers will travel a total distance of 6,830 miles in League games during the 2011/12 season which is a reduction in mileage on last season of 1,618 miles.

Rovers will make a return to Scunthorpe's Glanford Park next season!

The swing in mileage has been helped by the promotion of Brighton Southampton and Peterborough and the relegation from the Championship of Preston North End, Scunthorpe and Sheffield United. whilst in addition the relegated Southern sides in the shape of Plymouth, Bristol Rovers, Dagenham and Redbridge and Swindon have been replaced by promoted League Two sides Chesterfield and Bury as well as Wycombe and Stevenage who are slightly further south.

All in all the more local games will surely boost both Rovers away support but also the revenue at home games with more northern teams likely perhaps to bring bigger crowds to Prenton Park.
