Along with Phil Bailey, Gray made a return to play for Total Tranmere in 2009 having played for the team in the past during it’s early days of odd matches every so often.

A central midfielder or defender, Gray made four appearances during 2010/11, all of them coming from the substitutes bench despite being a regular attendee at training sessions since his return.
