The most stunning and remarkable transfer of the summer has been completed today after teenage sensation Dale Jennings signed on the dotted line for former German and European champions Bayern Munich.
Liverpool born Jennings moves to Bayern for a fee believed to be in the region of £600,000, though this fee could rise to £1,800,000 if clauses in the players contract, such as signing professionally for Bayern, are met. It is also believed there is a sell on fee for the player attached to the deal.
The moves caps a wonderful year for the 18-year old, who made his professional debut for Tranmere less than a year ago before going on to become a key player for Les Parry's side as they battled against relegation from League One during the 2010/11 season.
Interest from Bayern Munich in Jennings was first reported shortly after the end of the season, with the German club apparently keen to scour the continent for the best young talent as they look to improve their first and reserve team squads.
It is likely that Jennings, who was released by Liverpool before signing for Tranmere, will start the season in Bayern's reserve team squad, but he is sure to learn quickly from the likes of Frank Ribery and Arjen Robben, so hopefully it won't be too long before the electric quick winger makes his first team debut for the club.
Jennings leaves Tranmere having made 32 first team appearances for the club, scoring six goals, most of which were stunning strikes against the likes of MK Dons, Bristol Rovers and his brilliant solo effort against Plymouth which won him Tranmere's goal of the season award.
He was also named the League One Apprentice of the Year for the 2010/11 season, beating Alex Chamberlain and George Baldock to the award.
It is as yet unknown how long Jennings' contract at Bayern Munich is.
This deal is a fantastic move not only for Jennings, but also for Tranmere Rovers, as it shows young players that if they come to the club, they may still have a route to the top of the game, and perhaps might be a deciding factor in them signing professionally for the Prenton Park outfit.
Les Parry will no doubt be welcoming the money brought in from the transfer, and will be hoping that chairman Peter Johnson allows him to use at least some of the funds on player wages for the forthcoming season.
Total Tranmere would like to wish the player, who it is reported is on the verge of a call up to the England U21 squad, all the best for the future.

Great move for Jenno and a great advert for the youth policy at Tranmere. Just hope that the money is used wisely. Should, like mentioned, make the club an attractive prospect for up and coming young players
You would think that they would have it on the official site by now it`s been on the new`s(BBC Merseyside at 3pm news)are the asleep on down their at PP or were ever they input the latest info.
Dale will be missed at pp. In the short period of time that he played in the team he managed to bring an excitement and expectancy from the crowd when he started one of his runs with the ball. The very best of luck at your new club Dale and thanks for the memory.
the mail now say that dale has a problem with his pelvis and will have surgery very soon and a 6 month recovery.no wonder the deal was protracted with at times limited information.
Oh well, this might just pay for some much needed patching up of the main stand. If anyone is expecting any of this money to go on players I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you.
So the new`s that Jenning`s switch has at last arrived on Tranmere`s official site have noted that the fee was "undisclosed" makes you wonder what the figure started at and would end up after add on`s, being banded around is £600,000
up front and finishing on £1.7 million depending on add on`s ect ect.Makes you wonder what the actual figure is.
