If you can't make Tranmere's game against Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon, why not join in the banter righ here with other Rovers fans who are unable to attend......

Article Header - Match Discussion

Where possible, Total Tranmere's admin team will post reports at half-time on how the game is going for the benefit of those who are unable to make it and of course there will also be all the post-match examination of the game by fans who went to the match.

For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the more costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.

The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match analysis.

Stadium - Tranmere Rovers (Day)

Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game as well as a half-time report on how the game is going for the benefit of those who are unable to make it.

Tranmere of course take on early League One pace-setters Sheffield United at Prenton Park on Saturday afternoon so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on?

Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.

You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

Admin staff will try and add the team and updates on the game on this thread where possible but these details are updated also on our Twitter Page throughout the game so if you're not following us already why not do so at www.twitter.com/totaltranmere.

Great point today and to be honest thought we could even have won the game after closing them out really well in the second half to get the draw.

It was important to show our resilience to come from behind to pick up a point against a team who will definitely be in and around the top six come the end of the season, as well as to come back from Tuesday's defeat against County.

The goal was an excellent cross from Buchanan, my MOTM, and a terrific header from Joss, but there were great performances all over the field in my opinion, with Michael Kay much improved, Welsh excellent, Weir and Goodison strong and Enoch terrific.

Teryaki seems to have come on leaps and bounds since joining us, he looked even better today and chased down so well. He could be a key player.

Lucas did ok but lost the ball and bit too much and I thought McChrystal looked a bit shaky, that back pass was really poor!

It was great to see us again pushing for a winner after equalising and that's the way we need to play if we're going to be in the top six come May.

Sheff U are a good team with some very good players, but we really throttled them today, they didn't have too many clear cut chances, especially second half.

Saying that though, the likes of Montgomery in centre midfield for them were excellent and that was a stunning goal.

Todays game gives me a lot of hope for the season, early signs for a good campaign are promising! The team seems to have settled well and we should really be 4 games unbeaten. In my opinion we where the better team today against a Sheff Utd team that I think will go up automatically, on another day we could have taken the 3points today. Good signs!

A pleasure to be at the game again today. We looked strong throughout the side with Robbo providing that touch of midfield class that was missing for most of last season. When he's fit he's a class apart.I think we missed McGurk but on the whole a great performance against a quality team. Les has found the plot.

Cracking game-fair result.Thoroughly enjoyed a good old blood and thunder battle. If we play like that against teams that aren't as good as Sheffield, then we'll win them.

Thought Devaney was fortunate only to get a yellow card for his early tackle but I'm still not sure why Welsh was booked soon after.

Thought we looked better going forward after Tiryaki came on and we went 442.

We took on the best in the league and showed that we're equal if not better. Saw something today that I haven't seen since the days of Johnny King . Real team spirit and a real desire to win. It turns out Les did have a plan after all rescue, stablise and build.

I did find it ironic that Notts Count-themselvesLuck-y were playing the other Sheffield team and lost. No bookings for Wednesday, four yellows for Notts with a double yellow for one player. Proof of the pudding and all that. Really glad that we now seem to have some strength in depth, we'd have struggled last season with two key players suspended.

I was a little concerned when they went ahead, but I felt absolutely psyched when Labadie equalised.

Considering playoff form is around 52%-53% of points, 7 points out of 12, is just what is needed.

I think looking at the full tables, Tranmere are only in 7th on alphabetical order. Would have been nice to be 6th after that performance, but never mind, it's a great start to the season.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

I really enjoyed the game and there was a brilliant atmosphere across Prenton Park. Every player showed commitment, passion and belief.

Great character from the lads, really enjoyed the game. Only comment from me is that Weir went missing for large periods as he does, and Joss should start ahead of him every week for me!

Weir has arguably been our biggest impact this season and Joss not starting because of this is justified so far in my opinion despite Joss's two goals.

Great result against a team that will in the top four at the end of the season each team gave all still reflecting on the comments in the Sunday People that their manager states their players were not protected by the ref and Rovers cut them up
should have been more red cards against us not going down that road of us and them I thought both teams got stuck in and over all it was a full blooded good game of football. Not sure of the
Ref`s performance think he lost it some how should have talked to both captains and got on with the game he got a bit card happy and stop and start.
Still well done to both teams on the day perhaps on other day`s
to come given the same commitment by the super whites we can take all three points from the game(all six from Sheff Wed for our Utd fans). Onwards and Upwards(Sm132)

I have to disagree with you[and both managers] re the ref. I thought it was a very difficult game to control yesterday and that overall he did okay. The players did not make it at all easy for him-we all like blood and thunder games and the art of tackling has become very pansy like compared to the old days. He could quite easily have ''spoilt the game'' by giving Devaney a red card for the nasty tackle on Quinn after about five minutes but he didn't. I'm not sure why Welsh got booked as Quinn seemed to go up into the air but Welsh did at worst block him.No quarter was asked or given. Both teams' most skilful players [Quinn and Robinson] played up to the ref and,on another day, could have walked.
Virtually everybody I spoke to [including a couple of Sheff Utd supporting mates]really enjoyed the game-nobody got wound up about the ref.It was a game that could easily have got out of hand with quite a few other refs that we have seen and suffered at PP or away from home but it didn't.

Perhaps the most important thing is that we grafted a point with players missing.Last season we often looked exposed by injury/suspensions.

One slight concern is that we are not yet seeing goals from the forwards

The most important thing for me was coming from behind to take something from the game. Last year if we'd gone one down we would have crumbled so to see us take something was an improvement

I'm not overly concerned about the source of goals, as forward pushing players have contributed quite a bit to setting up and scoring goals.

Also Mcgurk might have done something had he been available.

Anyhow, I'll take the goals whoever gets them if it gets you points.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree then sub haha! Weir is not a terrible player, but in my opinion you often forget he is there. Robinson was all over the place, Welsh won tackled and got involved, I didn't see the same from Weir and haevn't in the majority of games he has played for us.

I know sometimes Joss goes overboard, but he always leaves a stamp on games, and I believe with a run in the starting 11 we could also see a good goals return from him.
