Following on from last weeks meeting at Prenton Park, the Tranmere Rovers Trust have now set up an online payment option for fans wishing to donate money towards the proposed takeover....

Following on from last week's meeting with supporters regarding the proposed takeover of the club, the Tranmere Rovers Trust (The Trust) has added an on-line payment option to its website to enable supporters to contribute to its takeover fund.
The Trust aims to raise a minimum of £300,000 from supporters interested in backing the scheme. This will enable the Trust to enter more formal negotiations with TRFC owner Peter Johnson, with a view to concluding a deal to purchase his shares in the Club.
The on-line payments can be made via Paypal. Fans do not need a Paypal account and can make payments with debit or credit cards.
Supporters can choose from a Gold Option (£300), Corporate Option (£500) or Basic Option (£50). There will also be the facility to pick the Gold Option with two monthly payments of £150. There will be a small administration fee to cover the costs of using Paypal.
Trust Chairman Ben Harrison said of the latest option.....
"We have received over £10,000 in the first week of the scheme through postal applications. We hope that the addition of an on-line payment option will greatly increase the uptake, particularly from those supporters who live away from the Wirral, either in the UK or abroad.”
“There will hopefully be a much bigger crowd this week as Sheffield United are a big draw. This will allow us to distribute the brochure to even more supporters.”
The Trust will again be handing out brochures outlining the scheme at the home game with Sheffield United on Saturday 20th August 2011. Around five thousand copies of the brochure were handed out at Tranmere Rovers’ first game of the season against Chesterfield.
The Trust held a fans forum at Prenton Park on Thursday 11th August to allow supporters to find out more about the scheme. Around 150 supporters attended the meeting and a comprehensive summary of the meeting is available on the Trust’s website.
Online payment options can be found on the Trust’s website www.tranmereroverstrust.co.uk.
Further information can be obtained on the website or by e-mailing info@tranmereroverstrust.co.uk. The brochure can also be downloaded from the website.
