As reported yesterday by Total Tranmere after the player left a huge clue on his Twitter page, the club have today completed the signing of forward Jose Baxter on a one month loan deal from Everton.

The 19-year old has progressed through the youth ranks at Goodison Park after joining them at the age of six and made his first team debut in August 2008, becoming the youngest player ever to play for the club.

He has since gone on to make 14 first team appearances and has represented England at under-16 and under-17 levels.  Last season he was voted reserve player of the season for the Toffees.

Speaking of the signing this morning, Manager Les Parry said...

"I'm delighted to be able to bring Jose to the Club.  We watch Everton reserves a lot and he’s tailor made for that role just behind the striker."

"He sees a pass, he can score a goal and he has great awareness, plus he can tackle and put himself about, so he brings to us everything we’re looking for.  I’d like to thank Everton manager David Moyes for allowing Jose to join us.”

Baxter is available to play in Rovers visit to Preston tomorrow in NPower League One, kick off 3.00pm.

Will our wonderful Manager stick him on the bench though?

Most likely play him at left back(Sm22). Depends if Robbo plays
could try him in his role, but most likely Les will try to defend the one point and go for the draw this could back fire because Preston have one thing we lack and that`s firepower(Sm138)in front of goal.

Robbo's trained so I'd expect Jose to start with Robbo for cover on the Bench, doubt Devany will be included tho yet

Devaney will not be in the squad for tomorrow but will train next week and be hopefully available for the home game next Saturday!

Sarcasm is lowest form of wit, especially since Les put Donaldson straight in and has made it clear he wanted someone in to 'do a Robinson', and I assume paying for someone to sit on the bench is a really good use of what little funding we have. Oops , sarcasm.
