Trust Hit Milestone and Launch Monthly Payment Option

The Tranmere Trust has revealed that it has reached the £100,000 mark in it's bid to raise £300,000 towards a takeover of the Club and has also launched a six month payment scheme to help more people to afford to help....

The Tranmere Rovers Trust (The Trust) has announced that it has passed the £100,000 milestone in its campaign to raise £300,000 towards a potential takeover of Tranmere Rovers FC.  The milestone has been reached after two meetings for supporters to ask questions about the proposals from the Trust.

The Trust have also announced that they will be holding two public events at Prenton Park on Thursday 13th and Friday 14th October in a final push to encourage supporters and local businesses to join the scheme. The Trust hopes to have a number of former players in attendance and doors will open at 7pm each evening.

Speaking of the latest announcment, Trust chairman Ben Harrison said......

“The £100,000 barrier was broken this week in cash and pledges.  That has exceeded our expectations of where we thought we would be at this stage.  We are delighted that people are committing themselves to this venture.  Thousands of pounds are coming in daily.”

“We have more than a fortnight to go to the deadline of October 14th, which we have set ourselves for
raising the money.  Now is the time for people to decide if they’re going to come on board with us. It is important to emphasise that the people who invest will get their money back if this does not come off.  But we all hope it does come off and we, the supporters can take ownership of the future of our club.”

“We are expecting a surge close to the deadline in the same way as most people buying season tickets tend to wait until the last few days of the best offer.  We hope that these two events will encourage supporters to get down to Prenton Park and sign up on the night.”

The event on the 13th October will be held in the Belmont Suite, while the event on 14th will be held next door in Aldo’s.

The Trust has also introduced a new 6-month payment plan for the Gold option on its website at www.tranmereroverstrust.co.uk.  This will mean that supporters can make 6 monthly payments of £52 rather than forking out £300 in one go.  Hopefully this will encourage more supporters to take up the scheme.

In addition, Manchester barrister Laura D’Cruz has also offered her assistance to the Trust board in an advisory capacity during the campaign to purchase Tranmere Rovers. Laura is based in Manchester and specialises in the property and commercial sectors.

Speaking of the new payment scheme, Ben Harrison added.....

“We understand that money is tight in the current economic climate and that fans may not be able to find £300 up front.  We hope that this new payment plan will encourage those with less disposable income to take up the Gold option.  Laura can hopefully assist us as the takeover scheme develops in the next few months.”

The Trust board has also sent a formal letter to the council’s planning department this week outlining its
support for the Ingleborough Road development, arguing that the Wirral community as a whole would benefit
from new sporting facilities at Woodchurch and that the twin development would help to secure the future of
Tranmere Rovers FC.

Trust members will also be offering supporters the opportunity to sign a petition in support of the Ingleborough development at the home game versus Bournemouth on Saturday 1st October.

Ben Harrison of the trust said of the Ingleborough development...

“We believe that it is important that the council is made fully aware of the strength of feeling amongst Rovers fans in support of this development. Hopefully we will be able to present a sizeable petition to the planning officers at the meeting on 25th October.”
