Les Post Match: "Lucas Took His Goals Well"

After Tranmere's 2-0 away win at Hartlepool United last night thanks to a Lucas Akins brace in the second half, Manager Les Parry was pleased with the second half performance after a poor first half........

Following the 2-0 win at Hartlepool on Tuesday night that lifted Rovers into the play-off positions, Manager Les Parry was delighted with the second half turn around in performance following a pretty poor first half display.

Speaking to Tranmere Player, Parry said.....

"Their manager (Mick Wadsworth) would have been disappointed to be level at half-time.  We made bad decisions in the first half, but we spoke about it and came out and played better."

"We were happy to be 0-0 at half-time and then we it turned around - but that's football.  Lucas took his goals well but I've never seen him miss from a yard.  I'm made up for him for the amount of work he puts into a game, which is tremendous.  Putting that extra effort means you get those breaks, but we were fortunate to be level and as long as you stay in it, you get chances."

"We've kept eight clean sheets in the league now which is fantastic and we need to keep that going and see where it takes us.  We've moved on this season and it's nice to be in the top six, that's where we want to be."
