Tranmere to take on League One opposition in the F.A. Cup first round draw
Tranmere Rovers have been draw against League Two side Cheltenham Town in the first round proper of this season's FA Cup, the oldest and arguably most famous cup competition in the world.
The match will take place at Prenton Park on the weekend of Saturday 12th November, which is in thirteen days time.
It will be a return to Prenton Park after a three year absence for the Robins following their relegation to League Two, with Tranmere having won three and drawn one of the four previous meetings between the two sides on the Wirral.
Tranmere have history in the tournament, having three times reached the F.A. Cup Quarter finals between 1999-2000 and 2003-04, knocking out Premier League opposition including Sunderland, West Ham United, Bolton and Everton.
Last season, Les Parry's Rovers were knocked out in the first round of the competition after suffering a 5-3 away to Bournemouth, although a year earlier Tranmere reached the third round before being defeated 1-0 by Premier League opposition Wolverhampton Wanderers.

We can win this tie but Cheltenham are doing well in their league so we must not take them lightly as they are capable
of turning us over so we be on our toes from the start and give a 100% we could do with a good cup run at least into 4th/5th rounds even if it`s only for the money that could help us in the league if not this season but funds for next.
Les says he only get nervous on F.A cup 1st round days, which is interesting. I am the same for some reason, don't really get nervous for the league, but when we play in the F.A cup I am on edge. got to be reasonably happy with that draw, they are doing well but hopefully we take the game to them.
Devastated, once again@#$%&draw..... if we had a non-league team away, Wrexham, Southport, anyone, would have been absolute boss awayday.
As it is they will bring a crowd (relatively speaking), be right up for what for them would be a giant-killing and pronbably beat us as Peterbrough did a few years ago in 1st Round.
