13 goal striker named North West Player of the Season

Tranmere Rovers striker Enoch Showunmi has been named the North West League One Player of the Year for the 2010/11 season at the fourth annual North West Football awards in Manchester.

Showunmi was voted by fans to win the award ahead of James Berrett of Carlisle United, Kieran Lee of Oldham Athletic and Gary Jones of Rochdale following his performances for Tranmere last season, which saw him net 13 goals in 49 matches for the club, playing a pivitol role in helping Tranmere battle against relegation.

By winning the award, Showunmi ensures that in each four of the seasons that the competition has run, a Tranmere player has picked up the League One Player of the Season award, with Ian Goodison collecting the award in 2007, 2008 and 2010.

Elsewhere, Dale Jennings' superb solo effort against Plymouth Argyle came second to Wayne Rooney's overhead kick against Manchester City in the Goal of the Season award, whilst Les Parry was beaten to the Manager of the Season award by Bury boss Richie Barker.

enoch has done very well to win the award.he could do with scoring a few more goals though.hes a good enough player.

pity Les didnt win manager of year but hes done a good job.

However the fact he came ahead of Mancini and Captain Bignose will do for me .

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.
