If you can't make Tranmere's game away at Stevenage on Saturday afternoon, why not join in the banter right here with other Rovers fans who are unable to attend......

Article Header - Match Discussion

For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the more costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.

The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match analysis.

Celebration 2010 (Enoch)

Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game as well as a half-time report on how the game is going for the benefit of those who are unable to make it.

Tranmere of course travel to Stevenage on Saturday afternoon in NPower League One so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on?

Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.

You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

Admin staff will try and add the team and updates on the game on this thread where possible whilst there will also be our usual update service from our Twitter feed @totaltranmere so if you are not already following us it may be worth doing so!

Check out our look at the betting odds on Tranmere's game against Stevenage on THIS LINK.

No devaney travelling again.....something definitely up there and strange how the press haven't asked anything....

anyway if all of the below are fit i hope we line up

Rachubka

Kay Taylor Macca Buchs

Welsh Weir

Mcgurk Baxter Robinson

Tiryaki

Would like to see mcgurk play similar to adam johnson for city cutting in as he has a good shot on him. Would also be temped to put robbo in the middle but we have a shortage of wide men......

Interesting they've had a lot of 0-0's and I think we might get another tomorrow or hopefully sneak it 1-0!

would like to see robo in the middle myself. weir can play out wide. but robbo and baxter with welsh as the only holding play is attacking. so robbo will prob be on the wing. just hope we stop hitting long high balls to him.

Robbo in the middle all right but the middle of the sub`s bench.(Sm22) Would rather have him on the pitch in stead of McGurk who has not done a lot and again no Devaney?

How anyone can defend the man is beyond me. 6 straight defeats, 20 goals in 22 games. The club is just a mess, and the football on offer is pathetic, same every week. It is going to be another relegation battle. Playoffs? hahahahahah

PARRY OUT!!

It is beyond a joke. The Management sit in the Stands home and away and see this tripe. The club is sinking and nothing is being done. Words are starting to fail me now, it really is deplorable.
My son is a season ticket holder and has been for several years. No more. He will not renew next season after the last few years and neither will my neighbour who has been a season ticket holder for many years. Thats only two people. How many more are thinking the same?
Why waste your money on the most negative, boring football seen for many years with a "Manager" who endorses it?

we were favourites to go down with the bookies at start of season.

agree we're in a poor spell but we had a good run 4/6 wins to go 6th not long ago.

2 winnable home games coming up next if we finished top 12 all things considered it would be a good season.

Also lets remember the number of points we've lost because of poor refereeing this season as well.

Les here how can I win matches with my plan A when the opposition get them selves down to ten men with 15 -20 minutes to go and go up 2-0 in front, my Plan A other wise known as hoof ball strategy is planned to a t to go for a nil - nil draw with the possible hoof ball strike in off the corner post to secure a 1-0 win for us but to go down to ten men throws off the whole balance of my attack plans this comprises of one or two covert strikes every ninety minutes,I will have to go back and over haul my plan A strategy on my up to date simulator(in fact it`s my 1970 circa Subbutoe table soccer set)problem is
some of the players have been damaged and re-glued so some times I do not have a full squad available and I have to prop up Showunmi in the oppositions half and hope that my back line of nine put in reliable hoof ball up front for Showunmi but most of the time it goes out of play(and off the table and I have to go down on my knees looking for it before the dog eats it)but some how from time to time the dog flicks it back on the table and I find myself 1-0 down, so I have to restart my plan A with a back to basics training session with my team some of them want re-glueing so they may be out for a while in the mean time the dog`s won most of the last nine games mind you my plan A did secure a 0-0 draw or was that down to the fact he ate the ball then,So looks like I will have to re invent my planning of plan A for the Rochdale game
I know I will lock the dog in the kitchen he will not beat me
in that game and my plan A will be OK for the next home game only trouble is it could take me a while for me to score as the ball never seems to go in the oppositions net even when Showunmi gets the ball he(it`s me really when I flick him he shoots it over the goal)goes at least an inch over the cross bar.(Sm56). Now then how could I plan? Plan B (Sm55) FIFA 2002 on my computer. All the above could be down to(Sm161)but it`s not funny(Sm22)we are in a bad run of results and unless their is a shake up and a complete turn around in plan A plan B or any dam plan we need wins and fast the next two home games must be won there is no other results that will do or the whole super white army will be digging out their table soccer games and not going to Prenton Park what`s happening
to us is beginning to hurt.

I like the way people posting at the above times obviously haven't been to the game and therefore I refuse to even try to get through to people who don't have a clue.

As a result I will not be commenting on the game.

I'm not sure what exactly transpired, but Les says the team battled but the stats have Stevenage on 61% possession and Tranmere 4 off 1 on for goal attempts.

So maybe he saw more in the game than the stats would portray but now is the time to think about doing something radical, enve if it's just stick Baxter upfroint and Robbo where has was at the start of the season, to get them working together effectively.

Robbo on the bench is useless and playing for short speels in a position largely raetd as not adequate for him isn't helping. Also playing Baxter in the same place virtually every game is not necessarily considering his ability to play elsewhere.

I don't know what Les does on a training pitch, but would Baxter up and Robbo playing off him rally kill him to try it, or go for Robbo in the middle of a 4-4-2 with Baxter and Shwounmi upfront.

Right now he's got nothing to lose and at least the fans would have to acknowledge some attempt to change, not just stuff about tightening up at the back, which when you start a match is not obvious, if the formation is identical to the usual, whereas a change of formation, even as subtle as the one I mentioned with Roobo and Baxter, would surely give a modicum of extra hope in the next game initially, when people see something immediate has been done, not some minor training ground tweak that Les "hopes" will happen within the confines of his stayed old system, because you won't see such tweaks bearing any fruit for probably the first 25-30 minutes at least.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

Today is the first game since this @#$%& loosing streak began that Les actually tried to change our system to put pressure on the opposition. It never worked but he tried. At f*cking last!

We were still @#$%& though and all our chances were from set pieces.

I still maintain that Les will bring a lot of criticism on himself by his own pre-season unrealistic targets of play-offs. It is something for people to judge him against and tbf they've every right too imo as he's failing himself atm.

This quote from les says it all for me " Ok they could have had a goal just before they scored but then they wouldn't have got the goal so it would have only been one". No wonder the players are confused!!!!! Out of all cup competitions by November, free falling down the league, nothing new there. Oh the joy of being a Rovers supporter!

Don't start the les out again. But if we do not get any victorys in the next 2 home games v Rochdale and bury I will be worried. Its not like we will be able to bring in mourinho anyway

Another poor performance !!! seemed like the 3 and 4 half following on from MK Dons.I did not see anything that will inspire me to go north for the two post Xmas games but I will travel. As for the 'plans' I would like the team to vary their tactics and play from the back (just a little) to see if we can engage the midfield. I would say that we are desperate for a midfielder who demands the ball to attack 'on the floor'. The back four should also be in a position to take the ball from the keeper - not to thump it forward all the time but to pass to one of the midfield who hopefully would thread it through to the forwards. I would not expect the team to use the tactic all the time but it would be another option which the supporters would (I hope) support.
I suspect that the next two home games will determine whether Les is to be in charge for the remainder of the season. Personally I hope Les is able to steady the ship as I have not forgotten how he was able to keep up in this division since taking over from JB.

To be honest I can predict what will happen with Tranmere whether I go or not anymore. Its not as if our gameplan changes at all.

Does anyone know how many points we have got after we went a goal behind this season?

As someone mentioned above our Plan A is to sneek a goal and then defend with everyone behind the ball (and perhaps catch another goal on the break)

Thats all very good, but when we go a goal behind its like its game over. I would rather gamble and try and get back into the game, and have a go than not change the team and settle for a 0-1 defeat.

Also the full backs are not that bad on the ball,so now and again it would be nice if we gave them a pass and built from the back. Spice it up now and again, instead of hoof every time. Enoch looks so dejected at the mo.

We haven't come from behind to win a game since RM was in charge.

Just 1 point gained when we've been behind this season i think - sheff united at home.
