Les Parry was upbeat despite his side's 2-1 away defeat at Stevenage on Saturday as Rovers put in a much improved performance particularly in the first half although ultimately it wasn't enough to overcome ten man Boro' despite the controversy over both of the goals.

Speaking to Tranmere Player after the game Parry said.....

"I think we can take a lot of positives out of it. I thought we were the better side first half by far. Ok they could have had a goal just before they scored but then they wouldn't have got the goal so it would only have been one. Apart from that they didn't hurt us."

"We caused them a lot of problems. We've got to take our chances obviously, but you're fed up of hearing me say it and I'm fed up of saying it."

"In the second half I thought they started better. We weren't quite at the races and they were more up for it.  The sending off and the goal lifted us a little bit and put us on the front foot."

Parry and Summerfield

"I was disappointed with both goals. Set plays...they're not nice to concede from, especially the second one which was a free header which is happening too much. That's something we've definitely got to look at."

"We're disappointed nobody was in front of the lad [for the first goal]. I don't know how it went in, it seemed to loop up in the air then he got a toe to it. By the same token I don't know how the one before stayed out."

"About four of them had a pop and it hit the cross bar. So we were lucky to get away with the one before but a little bit unfortunate with the one that ended up in the goal."

"Having said all that, I thought performance-wise that was more like us away from home. We battled.  Some of the changes were forced on us and some were by design. We tightened things up a little bit."

Er , we were losing 1-0 at half time? don't better sides tend to win games?

What about the second half against 10 men? They were the better side then ? oh ok, they only need 10 men to beat us then.

Just how much money have i wasted watching this shite this season?

There always seems to be the phrase " and thats something we have to look at". How many times has he said this season and nothing changes.

Trying to address a problem is one thing, but in a match situation it's a different kettle of fish.

He needs to change what he does moreso than just trying to get 4 players at the back to tighten up, or not to lose the ball quite as much in the middle.

I don't care what he does now, even if it is as simple as putting Baxter up top and Robbo in behind, but he needs to change things, because saying it's not good scoring 2 if you concede 3 is true, but trying ot force the play more into the opposition half and scoring first might go a long way to winning, instead of a bit of nip and tuck with no end product followed by a sucker punch.

So I don't care how he does it, as long as he starts to address the situation properly, because expecting to find that 12 goals in 15 gamess style defending, that kept stealing him points, might not bear much fruit anytime soon, though having Goodison and Raven back from injury would be useful.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

That interview is the worst of the lost this season for me, utter utter tripe.
