Tranmere Rovers v Rochdale Match Discussion
By Deadly Submarine
December 25 2011
If you can't make Tranmere's game at home to Rochdale on Boxing Day, why not join in the banter right here with other Rovers fans who are unable to attend......

For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the more costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.
The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match analysis.
Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game as well as a half-time report on how the game is going for the benefit of those who are unable to make it.

Tranmere of course host Rochdale on Boxing Day afternoon in NPower League One so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on?
Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.
You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.
What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.
Admin staff will try and add the team and updates on the game on this thread where possible whilst there will also be our usual update service from our Twitter feed @totaltranmere so if you are not already following us it may be worth doing so!
Check out our look at the betting odds on Tranmere's game against Rochdale on THIS LINK.

if we lose today and v bury, sheff wed next, should les go.my idea brig back ronnie moore and make les physio
In the Unlikely event of Les Parry going there is no way he would ever revert to Physio never mind work with Ronnie Moore as they are no longer buddies not that Moore would ever be given the job while PJ is change.

COME ON YOU MIGHTY WHITES

He was apparently axed as part of a £1,000,000 cuts reform, so now the club is making less attendance money, why would he come back, because even if he was prepared to take about 25% less per year than he earned, I don't even think Tranmere could afford that, whatever that would be.
Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

Noooooo. We don't want Ronnie back. We need to go forward, not take a backward leap. We have some good players they will get us out of this slide along with Les. Lets get behind them.
COME ON YOU MIGHTY WHITES
Getting behind them OK so long as we do not have to stand under
the main stand roof
.What a massive blow, because to get someone with potentially premiership class in that midfield, would have been a massive edge over other teams.
I certainly think he would have provided added edge in the Bournmouth, Yeovil, Colchester and Stevenage games and MK Dons wouldn't have been getting too much of their own way, against someone of his class and penetrative threat, but clearly he made his choice and should be respected for that.
I don't think Ronnie Moore would necessarily be a backward step, as it hasn't been the case for Liverpool reinstating Kenny Dalgleish. After all Tranmere supposedly sounded out Aldo a few years ago and Aldo baulked the notion of an indian summer for himself and shyed away from the job again.
Ronnies mistake if you can call it that, was those away games against Brighton, Cheltenham, Crewe and Hereford, where he picked up 2 points from a possible 12. 3 of those teams dropped and Brighton survived largely because Crewe failed to win on the last day. Even if he'd gotten another 3 points, that draw scenario against Scunthorpe would have kept them in the playoffs and possibly the money procured would have afforded him his job for another 1-2 years and he wouldn't have been axed as a cost cutting measure.
He said at the time he was shocked, as he was walking into Johnson's office to discuss the signing of Mark Allot from Oldham and got told.
Apparently even half the board didn't want him to be cut loose.
I suspect if he'd still been there, he'd have done more than Barnes alledgely did, to keep Coyne and Chorley, although trying to keep Anthony Kay would probably have been a bridge too far.
However right now it's Les and his cobbled together oddment of staff and players, obtained with hardly any more money than the Greek and Irish economies combined, that will live or die by their actions, so if it's what must be then it must be.
That team is good enough to progress up the table again and I'm sure they will.
Speaking of the screwed up Greek economy, I wonder of they would like to sell Les any Olympiakos players, for a nominal fee of about £10,000
Right now I suspect their leaders would gratefully accept £10,000, rather than a poke in the economic eye.
They could also make Peter Johnson honourary Vice President
