If it goes in a similar fashion to the Huddersfield game, then a cheeky 1-0 for Tranmere might be on the cards.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

We will be taught a footballing lesson at least 0-3 and at a guess plenty of Les shouts

we can win this game if Les picks the right team.....Fon-williams,Holmes,Goodison,Taylor,Buchanon,Deavaney,Labadie,Wallace,Welsh,McGurck,Tyriacki.

Fonners back in the team, defence more confident, Devaney finding form, Showunmi and Robinson not too far away so players pushing harder for their place in the team. 1-0 Tranmere

Draws are no good to us. The gap to the bottom four has narrowed again and that is now 1 win in 18.

Charlton are not Real Madrid and we backed off too much in the 2nd half and invited them onto us. They probably deserved to win, certainly in chances created.

Still, we didn't lose I suppose.

A good result if we were not on the run we are on if Walsall win their game in hand we will be down to three points off the bottom four so really a win was what was needed today;Les puts on subs that were like for like that`s OK if we were winning but it does not change things ,OK perhaps players were getting to a point when they loose their legs but again we sat to deep when defending and why do they not leave some on the half way line when we are defending a corner it just leads to ball coming back at us when cleared,oh and why does Les still stick with McGurk as one of his main strike force but I am sorry to me McGurk chickens out to many times and fails to take his chances when given them,we need wins fast(a win I told is when your team scores more then the others)

We stuck when we should have twisted. We sat so far back in the second half it was criminal and just a matter of time till they equalised. After that we showed no ambition or urgency to go for the winner.Considering the fact that their defence were not playing that well it was very poor that we did not put them under any pressure in the second half.Brunt was so far in front of the rest of them that he had no chance most of the time yet he battled really well and must be knackered tonight.

Agreed, we need to start winning games and fast! My concern is that we simply cannot score a second goal to kill the opposition off! Thank god we started the season so well otherwise we would really be in trouble! Lets hope we can get a result at Oldham next weekend! The stats do look dreadful for Les and the boys. Good result against the league leaders but this terrible run is very worrying! The players inability to kill off games is troubling! We simply cannot get that vital second goal to give us a cushion and relieve the pressure! Mind you playing 4-5-1 i'm not surprised we cannot score a second! WE sit too deep and invite the opposition on, especially at home!

does the fact that he may have been there or not alter the stats he states ???? and the Fact we held high flying Charlton to a draw ! credit where it is due

A good result and one which for me was unexpected, goodison & taylor both had really good games.

We were the better team in the first half but they came out and got on top of us straight away in the 2nd half, we got pushed back too deep and were holding on for the point in the end.

1 win in 18 really is very worrying indeed and we really need to get a win or two soon as the pack are starting to close.

If you were not there,you have no idea how we performed.Charlton did not perform like a top of the table team and were there for the taking.

In isolation its a good result but put it into the run ere currently on and its a bit diffrerent.

He never said it did alter the stats.

He was trying to justify why it could be OK for some people to have a moan, and he's right. We sat well to deep.

A good point on the whole but could quite easily have been all three. Teams below starting to catch up now and we are in a rot. L2 bound, draw or not unless we start winning games back to back.

I thought that was a good performance against an excellent team that had some misfiring players today. Down the spine of the team - Ash, Goody, Weir, Wallace, Welsh and Brunt - we were excellent. Down the flanks maybe the difference in class showed a little but we wont be playing anyone of Charlton's quality again this season.

I'm going to place a bet on us winning our next four in a row because I'm convinced we've turned a corner. Roll on Oldham.

P.S. I don't know what Charlton's no.5 took at half time. In the first half he looked like he'd never even seen a football before. In the second half he was initiating all of their attacks.

A decent result all things considered and I just have to hope the goal they were awarded was justified annd not another example of referees pooping on Tranmere again.

As for McGurk, McGurk whether he avoids tackles or not, scored 3 goals in 3 consecutive games and is the only striker in the squad this season, who has shown any ability to find a bit of consistency, so he must be favoured right now.

Injuries have to some extent cost the team some points, with all the chopping and changing and therefore more chopping and changing of fit players, might not be beneficial either.

Frankly if Mcgurk avoids challenges, then that's his decision, but if he goes for two many and gets crocked for a long time, it would seriously crimp the goal tallies the team gets and they aren't getting a tonne of goals this season, so McGurk may be looking at big Enoch's woes in the past 9-10 months and knowing he might be more likely to suffer similar problems, because he's not as big and solid as Enoch and probably couldn't take some of the knocks as much as he could.

However I'm just speculating, because on Adam knows exactly what goes on in his head, except when he tells other people that is.

His 2 long range shots were virtually our only efforts on goal in the second half.

dont no how you can say they didnt perform like a top of the table team unless you have been watching them week in week out also if they didnt perfrom like a top of the table team doesnt that mean we done well to contain there pressure more so in the first half

I will try again. Before the game, and regardless as to whether anyone attended, there was just over 76% chance Charlton would win, just under 12% chance they would draw and same for a loss. The actual result, totally disregarding performance or who was watching was far less likely than a loss against Charlton. That makes it a good result.

Disappointed that we lost the lead.........when have we done anything different?!

Sub, it was a decent result and for me unsexpected but the fact is our dismal run continues and if we dont start winning soon we will be in the bottom 4.

1 win in 18 no wins in 9 this year and 8 wins in the league all season is dismal to put it mildly.

yes a good result 1-1 against the top of the league ,but its another 2 points droped at home ,so our record seems to be draw at hom lose away thats why we are 1 win in 18 games,so thats 5 points dropped every 2 games ,thats sorry to say is relagation and theres no good trying to stick our heads in the sand and hope other teams below us lose so we stay up again ,results went against us yesterday most picked up 3 points we drop another 2 points ,we do need to win soon ie next game and get on a bit of a run ,or the trap door will loom even larger ,so even though 1-1 with a top team is a good result but its not enough ,we need wins les and at least 4 to 5 of them ,w know he wont be sacked this season i dont know if thats a good or bad thing but after 3 saesons of scrapping down the bottom a change is needed we mustr get a ream manager in ,say thanks les for your efforts but your not and never will be a manager ,bye bye les and good luck in your next venture

Walsall play Scunthorpe away on Tuesday not at home but a win for Walsall would still result in the gap only being THREE POINTS *LES* now it`s time to start to be panicky because the other day you stated we were not in the drop zone so we had nothing to worry about,Les that door getting nearer we need wins and fast.

I thought that Charlton were going win easily but the way we played in the 1st half should have yielded the goals we needed to have won the game. 2nd half we defended to deep and allowed them to get into the game. A draw was deserved against a team who top the league.

This was a result that most of us would have been grateful for before kick off, I for one was expecting us to loose. The next two games are the one to judge on, if we win them both (which I don't think we will) then we are probably okay. if we loose them both action (Surely) would be taken to address the concern. I suspect we will get at least two points which will leave us as we are now.

i agree that the upcoming games are more important. Never expected to get anything from Charlton, so a point was a bonus. Defeat in the next 2 away games however is different.

I suspect if we only get two points from the next two games this will have us on 36pts.so given the next two/three games have been played the bottom could look like this.

31 Scunthorpe 37 two wins
33 Tranmere 36 two draws
33 Yeovil 36 one win
34 Exeter 36 one win

33 Walsall 34 two wins(3 games)
33 Rochdale 30 one win
34 Wycombe 29 one win
33 Chesterfield 28 one draw
This would result in Tranmere being grouped with 36 pts and only goal difference keeping us from being 20th in the league and only two points above Walsall in 21st position if we could get one win out of the next two it would put us on 37pts same as Scunthorpe but even this would still leave us only 3pts ahead of Walsall . I know it`s a bit if and may be but if the results go like my predictions the next period of two/three games with in the group shown will be crucial so by the evening of Saturday 3rd of March we will know what will have to be done during the rest of the games.Scunthorpe seem to have the best hand given they have played less games.

Same could be said of people who have their head in the sand. The wins will come blah blah, we played well blah blah, I have faith in Les and the team blah blah I also can't believe somebody is talking about percentages. Each game is different. If we all looked at percentage scenarios for every football match, what would be the point in going?

In a way I hope that we don't win against Oldham. I don't think that I'm ready for the inevitable "TWO WINS IN 19!!!!!!" when someone comments on having enjoyed the victory. I'd have to set up some kind of padded room at home before checking the forums.

If you want general hatred type stuff, ask HughJarce. I'm pretty certain he has never posted one thing on here that has been positive, about single individual or result Tranmere have had.

I seem to recall he was nowhere, when they won the first 2 games this season for the first time in a long time; nowhere when they won 3 in a row, but suddenly Tranmere lose to Cheltenham in the cup and he slunk on here with some vitriol and has skulked here ever since, sticking the boot in at anyone and anything at Tranmere .

Realism I speak. Vitriol? I am less harsh that a lot of people. As someone has mentioned, everyone has an opinion. Mine is borne out of 45 years watching them and not recalling in recent memory such an appalling run of results and a 'Manager' who has taken us there accompanied by an inept Board.
I reserve the right to say what I want as long as I am not offensive. It is total frustration in what is in front of me.

I have not singled anyone out for criticism (except Les) and not spouted vitriol against anyone.
