Chesterfield v Tranmere Rovers Match Discussion
By Deadly Submarine
March 2 2012
If you can't make Tranmere's game away at Chesterfield on Saturday afternoon, why not join in the banter right here with other Rovers fans who are unable to attend......

For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the more costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.
The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match analysis.
Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game as well as a half-time report on how the game is going for the benefit of those who are unable to make it.

Tranmere of course travel to Chesterfield's B2Net Stadium on Saturday afternoon in NPower League One so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on?
Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.
You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.
What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.
Admin staff will try and add the team and updates on the game on this thread where possible whilst there will also be our usual update service from our Twitter feed @totaltranmere so if you are not already following us it may be worth doing so!

If you do not already have an account Click here to Register.

Fingers crossed 'eh?

.But apart from that some how I think we may pull off a draw today if not a win.26.1.93 Notts Co 5-1 (we were actually top when this happened)
05.10.02 Mansfield Town 6-1 (we were winning 1-0 at half time)
16.5.01
Queen's Park Rangers 2-0
Crewe 4-3
Cheltenham 1-0
0-3 Wycombe
0-2 swindon
Also recently 1-2 Wycombe. There are others I have probably erased from my memory
We really really can't afford to lose this game..

It`s not over yet but were down to 19th .
Can I apply for the managers job? I could pick a better lineup from our squad and I'll do it for £250 a week!

Time to goYou've been a wonderful servant to Tranmere, but you've taken on a bigger job than you can handle. No-one is bigger than the club and now is time to walk.
For the greater good, just please quit.

thats it les you are bringing us all to tears watching your tactics byeee byeeee please go now
first can we score a goal and if we did can we keep any lead
we may have going on the past twenty games it does not look good and with Notts County being in the top six they will be up for it.
No doubt Les will play one up front and try to hold on to the one point it`s sad
what`s happening to our club it may be some of our players are not good enough but on the whole I think they are good enough to stay up but some were the tactics that have been used for the last twenty games have been totally wrong things should have changed ten games ago and if one of those changes was a change of manager it should have happened then but it may well be to late now those teams around us and below us have won games and in some cases have now passed us in the league those below us are now getting points on board were we are not I have supported Tranmere for
fifty eight years and going on passed records were we have had a run like we are on now history is not on our side it will take a massive turn of form and lady luck to change our fortune in the coming weeks it will be interesting to see what Les has to say and who`s fault was it today.

It's obvious as to whose fault it was.
If Yeovil and Scunthorpe hadn't got lucky wins, we'd still be in 17th place.

The next Les quote
"We were unlucky today, but if Ronnie Moore he hadn't have been ridiculously sacked then i'm sure we'd have picked up three points today"

yes you have got to laugh but its a true fact he blames everyone but himself and his cluless tactics,so comon les who is it this time ,or are you gonna shock us all and at last admit its your fault we are in this mess and you are totaly out of your depth your not a manager ,your were a funny man as a spongman but your now a joke as a manager ,please go les and go before tuesday as i fear for what you will hear from the fans , i would say 85% now want you gone and i fear you will get both barrels then so go les and save your self from total humiliation from the fansI hope his source is reliable.

I belieben fowler had been touted as les,s replacement
Up till now Blackpool seems the next stop for Fowler.
Most fans well behind the team until the goal. Parry Out chants were being drowned out by more positive chants but once we scored it was clear we weren't going to come back.
The were filming for that league show on BBC North West and quite a few fans were interviewed. It will be interesting to see how they spin it. Unfortunately a few fans got over excited and the police came in, which will probably look worse on TV than it really was.
Only silver lining was that the drive over and back was nice.

It`s a shame that some fans have lost faith in Les and comments based on sarcasm and laughter is an outlet for our feelings I have not been an advocate to get rid of Les in a way have stood by him over the past months but backing of him started to slip away around about when then run of games got to one win in twelve games now that figure has reached 1 in 20 it can not be all down to the quality of players but the way those players have been deployed and the tactics that Les used.
We all know what a loyal servant Les has been to Tranmere but
the old maxim comes into play no one person be that a player
or manager is bigger than the club if it is possible for Peter Johnson to make that move and replace Les it has to be now while there is enough games left to turn it around or at least for Les to change tack in his game plan and blow caution to the wind and attack in every game from now till the end of season and not by using one loan front man but I think Les has used his nine(or should that read twenty) lives
up and it could be to late to change his way of doing things he may be set in his outlook and can not change it.But we need some thing to save our club slipping into the bottom tier of league football, back to the basement were Peter Johnson and John King took that ride almost to the moon.
It may be a sad
day on May 5th unless things change.Quote:@gony
well at least seen the back of the 1 win in 19 posts !!
It's actually one win in twenty as of today!!!
You can't tell me that's acceptable at any level of professional football?
Nice bloke or not, anyone else would've been sacked long before now.
I wish him well though.
and another point IF we were to end up on the bottom of the pile ! could we pack as many 'supporters' in as thay did today ?

Because I didn't note the same things as you. However I did note somebody who fitted the description you gave of yourself a couple of days ago.
-there was nothing else to smile about!Quote:garyrov
i would be interested to see if there are any hardend les fans still left who can condon and want him to stay as manager ,or are we now all singing from the same hym sheet ,les must go
Peter Johnson so that`s the end of the matter.

I did ! now dreading the shambles that may follow !
It cant be worse than the shambles of 1 win in 20 games and slipping closer & closer to the bottom 4

He has to go . Even if by some miracle he keeps his job till end of season and keep us up. He still should go he will never take the team forward.
Today was a total shambles even by the worst Tranmere standards. My guess is that we will both be playing in Division 2 next season.Even if a new man takes over,he will have a massive job to reverse our catastrophic plunge.
Chesterfield will stay up and we will go down
