If you can't make Tranmere's game at home to Exeter City on Saturday afternoon, why not join in the banter right here with other Rovers fans who are unable to attend......

Article Header - Match Discussion

For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the more costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.

The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match analysis.

Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game as well as a half-time report on how the game is going for the benefit of those who are unable to make it.

Stadium - Tranmere Rovers (Day)

Tranmere of course host Exeter City in NPower League One onSaturday afternoon so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on?

Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.

You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

Admin staff will try and add the team and updates on the game on this thread where possible whilst there will also be our usual update service from our Twitter feed @totaltranmere so if you are not already following us it may be worth doing so!

Big talk about new players joining Exeter but it takes time to gel.The way TRFC are playing I cannot see beyond a win
provided we keep the teamwork going. 3-0

Not a great win but a good win, when you win games and your not giving a 100% does it matter no that`s how team`s win league`s
not that were going to win any league this because of Les`s blip still looks like were heading for middle table position this will do me for this season, two well taken goals in the end
but they did put us through it getting there with some of them misses, onwards and upwardsthumbs down

What a tremendous performance by the two lads who have spent the season getting splinters sitting on the baench...totally changed the game...great goal by josh and so,so close with another shot hitting the bar and a skillful pacey spell from the Zoooom setting up Cassidy for the second goal.Iv'e always moaned at Les and his coaching team for not selecting them...I hope Ronnie signs them up for next season(that's if PJ gives Ronnie the job permanently).

A win that was solid if unspectacular but they all count. Great goal from Joss, he lets himself down with silly bookings ans throwing himself around, because there is a good player in there.

I think Cassidy should start ahead of Brunt. He looks like a real good finisher.

Agree about Cassidy over Brunt that's three good chances in three games that Brunt has now missed whereas Cassidy looks a class act in front of goal (barring the one on Tuesday that passed him by).

We made more hard work of that than we needed too and against a decent side we would have come unstuck but onwards and upwards under Ronnie Moore - we're nearly there now!

thumbs downWell we have reached the first page on Sky league chart in twelve place getting quite dizzyspinning smiley sticking its tongue out(Sm8)this high up pity we only had 1 win in 19 in that bad spell(Sm18)another three wins and extra odd draw or two we would now be sitting in sixth place and we would have been twice as dizzyspinning smiley sticking its tongue outspinning smiley sticking its tongue out still it was not to be only glad(Sm125)to be any from that trap door(Sm149) onwards and upwards with a win at Bury leading to a home win on Good Friday and then we can take stock because we should be safe then from the drop.

good performance two great goals. defence looked in control and we played some good stuff going forward. got a bit edgy when we started sitting deep for the last 10 tho. zoom made a difference when he came on and must be pushing for a start. cassidy looks a class act and hopfully will get a start at bury.

JJust realised if Ronnie had bene allowed a bit longer, like say starting the Carlisle game, he could have won that, Chesterfield and Oldham and been able to lose the County and Charlton games and be 3 points off the playoffs now and would have had McChrystal, Devaney and McGurk available and all might be fit now

Les should have wised up and realised what his team could do but he didn't and not crocked after the Chesterfield game.

I actually believe, especially with Devaney in the team adding real meat to the midfield, Tranmere in the playoffs on current playing form, would not be making up the numbers. I think they would have something tangible to give against teams like Huddersfield and MK Dons and be worth an outside bet to go up.

I probably wouldn't rate them as anything other than the weakest of the 4 teams, but in terms of what is required now, assuming Carlisle only get 8 points tops from their remaining games, Stevenage 8 and County, 9, which is not likely, Ronnie would need 18 from 21 to sneak the playoffs on goal difference, which is mathmatically possible, but highly unlikely.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

I thought Brunt ran his socks off out of steam towards the end.
Chance in the first half hit him and somehow deflected over the bar. Other chances Exeter defenders threw bodies in the way.
Akins header was deflected by their goalie just before Lucas misheaded the chance.
Alls well that ends well.

A decent performance and we really should have won the game more comfortably as we missed numerous chances and were a bit edgy when they had chance cleared off the line then hit the post.

Cassidy should start ahead of brunt as he looks a decent player with good movement and took his goal well.

I really hope we give ronnie a contract and can continue to make progress.

Ronnie made the right decision yesterday by bringing off Showumni. He had been virtually annonymous in the first half with Brunt doing all the work. I think if cassidy starts ahead of Brunt, I don't think we will be as effective because Showumni can be extremely lazy as he showed yesterday.

I thought we missed something when Wallace went on, he has been amazing since he came in and has that little bit extra that were missing in the midfield. Joss played well when he came on but I can do without the diving which he regularly does.

It is staggering when you think this is the same team Les had and were now 12th, it just shows how inept he was as a manager. He did get one thing right though as he did say this squad was good enough to get in the play offs, but just not with him and his negaitve tactics.

I would give Ronnie a contract now, allow him to assess the players he believes should stay and line up the ones he wants to bring in. We have a very good nucleus of a squad there and I think with a bit of tinkering, we could definitely push on next season.

Yes, keep Ronnie but to address all those baiting for new young blood, bring in a potential young manager as assistant so that he or she [;0)] can really understand what it takes to motivate players who are basically cast offs and loanees and underpaid relative to the big clubs. let them try their approaches on the reserve team.

you cant blame Brunt for missing the pace of the ball came at him quick.

regardless if the ball came at hime quick or not he shouldve scored.

Brunt has now missed three good chances in three games without scoring one.

Can't deny he works hard but people have complained all season about us not taking chances and it's no different with Brunt.

Not a classic game but very satisfying. After a huge effort in 6 games over 18 days the players were obviously exhausted but still comfortably outplayed Exeter. Great to see that we can win on a relative off day.
Who would have thought it three weeks ago but when we go to Bury on Saturday our biggest problem might be motivation because it's us that have little to play for!

We're not quite safe yet so we do have something to play for. Also quite a lot of the players have their futures to play for.

Should be looking to push on and aim to finish in the top 12 now at least, if not the top 10!

After the run of form we were on, when RM was brought in I'd have been happy just to survive but a top 10 finish looks better on the CV's of all the players than just surviving, and is a real possibility.
