Rovers Lose Assistant Manager

Kevin Summerfield leaves club
Tranmere Rovers' assistant manager Kevin Summerfield has left the club to take up a similar role with League Two side Burton Albion.
Summerfield joined Tranmere in 2010 as Les Parry's assistant manager, taking over from Wayne Allison, who had been on a contract until the end of the 2009/10 season, and Shaun Garnett, who returned to his role with the youth team.
He has held the assistant manager position at the club for the two-years since and was joined on the first team coaching staff by firstly David Lowe for the 2010/11 season and then John McMahon, who rejoined the club last summer following Lowe's departure.
Summerfield, 53, has previously been assistant manager at Plymouth, where he successfully oversaw the Pilgrims promotion winning campaign of 2001/02, whilst he was appointed to a similar role at Southampton and Sheffield Wednesday, often playing a part of Paul Sturrock's coaching staff.
As a player, Summerfield was a successful forward, and after leaving West Brom as a youngster, he had good spells with Plymouth Argyle and his hometown club Walsall.
He joins Burton as assistant-manager to the Brewers' new boss Gary Rowett immediately and leaves Ronnie Moore searching for a new assistant, as well as several players.

Is this where Goody looks to step into a role????? I have no basis for saying this would love him to stay at the club when he does hang his boots up and this could just be the natural step forward for him.

Goodison would be potentially popular, cheaper and certainly quicker to install as Ronnies right hand man.
If it happened I wouldn't be against it. However maybe this is the move Jimmy Harvey is waiting for, the chance to slide into the dugout and if things don't work for Ronnie, his shoes, because if his promise to bring a couple of his strikers on a £700 wage happened as result, all the better.
However whether someone like that would want to be a side man as opposed to the main man, is anyones guess.
Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

we dont want itm,why not save a wage and either make goody assistant or let ronnie sign an experienced player looking to be a coach,maybe fowler,savage,surely we could save money and still have enough staff-maybe robbo for assistant.thoughts please

Ian Moore was concerned about letting the team down and his fitness, so if Ronnie was unable to persuade him to play upfront in recent weeks, I doubt the lure of being his side man as well would do it, as Ian could still turn round and say maybe as your side man, but not your front man as well, unless there was leeway as the side man / striker, to get a better wage than just being a striker, because then the financial aspect of the dual role might convince him to do both, rather than just be the side man, but I still don't rate the move myself.
Though if he came back in some way I'd support it.

John McMahon to step back at No2 and possibly a player-coach (goalkeeper?) to fill the vacancy left? Pure speculation with no grounding at all but it is a possibility to consider.

Why do people assume Goody has the right credentials for a leadership role? Sorry cant help thinking heart ruling head here folks. Wouldnt be surprised if McMahon steps up to Ronnies no 2.

I believe they should bring in David Kelly as No2, in my opinion he has the best credentials and worked well last time he was at the club.

I agree 100% Deadly, David Kelly should be managing his own club by now, I'm very surprised that he isn't?
When he left Tranmere we dipped big time. He obviously has the skills to turn an average team into a promotion chasing team IMO.
I would love to see him come back in any position.
