A host of former Tranmere Rovers stars are returning to Prenton Park, all in aid of charity, for a fundraising match between the Totally Tranmere Podcast and 7 Waves Radio on Saturday 26th May (6:30pm kick off).

Both sides will field star names Kenny Irons, Alex Hay, Lee Jones, Paul Linwood and Neil Gibson who are all coming together to help raise funds for Claire House children’s hospice in Bebington (registered charity number 1004058) and 7 Waves community radio (registered charity number 1112846).

Also taking to the field will be one of the stars of series 6 of BBC show The Apprentice and Tranmere Rovers supporter Christopher Farrell.

One of the organisers of the event, Paul Harper, co-host of the Totally Tranmere Podcast, says, I’d like to thank all the former Tranmere players for giving up their time and committing to help us to try and raise as much money as we can for good causes. They have all been absolutely fantastic in helping us put this event together. It will be great to see these fantastic players back on the Prenton Park pitch and it should make it a very entertaining evening for everyone.

Admission for the game is £2 adults and £1 juniors. Tickets can be bought in advance from the 7 Waves radio reception on Twickenham Drive in Leasowe (behind Leasowe Recreation Centre) or on the day of the game at the turnstiles at the Main Stand of the ground.

Included in the admission is entry into a half time raffle to win signed Tranmere Rovers memorabilia. Gates will be open from around 5:45pm with food and drink available from the usual matchday kiosk.

Thanks to everybody who came yesterday. A great day was had by all and I believe we made an estimated £1,250 for Claire House, with about 300 people turning up to watch.

A special thanks too to the ex-professionals who turned up. The Totally Tranmere Podcast side ended up having Paul Linwood, Glenn Rule, Alan Navarro and Neil Gibson in their side, along with the fantastic Andy Parkinson who netted twice, whilst Kenny Irons was superb for the 7 Waves Radio side, along with Alex Hay and Danny Harrison.

I hope those who came enjoyed their day. Those who played certainly did, with the professionals making the day that extra bit more special and entertaining, as they were competitive but also made sure everybody else enjoyed their day too.
