Goalkeeping coach returns to Prenton Park...again!

Tranmere Rovers boss Ronnie Moore has revealed that Dave Timmins has returned to the club and will return to his role as goalkeeping coach for the 2012/13 season.

Timmins left Tranmere after their Easter Monday clash with MK Dons in April for a role at Stoke City, where he worked with the Premier League club's academy goalkeepers.  However, Moore has stated that Timmins signalled his wish to return to Prenton Park for next season after missing working with the first team.

A former goalkeeping coach with Carlisle United and Shrewsbury, Timmins originally signed for Tranmere when Les Parry was manage in 2010, but swiftly joined Stockport County to join up with friend and newly appointed manager Paul Simpson.  Simpson's reign at County however was short and ill-fated, and Timmins returned to Tranmere in March 2011 season following the departure of his replacement Simon Miotto, who left the club to pursue business interests.

Ronnie Moore didn't replace Timmins following his departure in April, so he will be able to slip seemlessly back into his role as Goalkeeping Coach at Raby Vale.  He will however have different personel to work with, as Tranmere's number two goalkeeper Andy Coughlin and second year scholar John Courtney were both released at the end of the season.

Timmins, who is believed to have been one of the key reasons behind Owain fon Williams joining the club last summer, has the claim to fame of bringing Manchester City and England goalkeeper Joe Hart through the Shrewsbury academy.
