Rovers Make Third Summer Signing

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro signs on a two-year deal
Tranmere Rovers have today announced the signing of Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro on a two-year contract. The forward will join on a free transfer from recently relegated Rochdale on July 1st.
27-year old Akpa Akpro had previously been with Rochdale for two seasons, having first come to England in 2008 with Grimsby Town. He joined the Mariners permanently after a successful trial period with the club and netted eight times in 60 games for the club.
In 2010, he joined Rochdale following their promotion to League One in 2010. Under three different managers at Spotland, the Frenchman went on to make 83 league and cup appearances for the club, scoring 12 goals, though he wasn't able to help the club avoid relegation in May.
The striker came to England from France, via Belgium, having started his career with Toulouse, making an impressive 37 appearances for the French club between 2003-2007, before playing for FC Brussels, where he made just three appearances.
Ronnie Moore has described the striker as very quick and hopes that he will link up with another new signing up front, Ben Burgess.
Akpa Akpro is Tranmere's third signing of the summer, with Ronnie Moore having already recruited striker Ben Burgess and central midfielder Danny Harrison ahead of the 2012/13 season.
