Crawley Town v Tranmere Rovers Match Discussion

By Deadly Submarine
September 20 2012

If you can't make Tranmere's game away at Crawley Town on Saturday afternoon, why not join in the banter right here with other Rovers fans who are unable to attend......

For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the more costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.

The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match analysis.

Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game as well as a half-time report on how the game is going for the benefit of those who are unable to make it.

Celebration 2012-13

Tranmere of course, make the long trip to Crawley Town on Saturday afternoon in NPower League One so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on?

Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.

You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

Admin staff will try and add the team and updates on the game on this thread where possible whilst there will also be our usual update service from our Twitter feed @totaltranmere so if you are not already following us it may be worth doing so!

I hope you all enjoy the game. They are a strong team and will not be a push over especially at home. We need to up our game we have proved that we can score goals but we need to defend as well. We will get chances and we need to bury them however,I'm going with a draw 1-1.

I fear that this game will be a reality check! I would be more than happy with a point but my head says 2-1. We can not rely on Robison and Cassidy always scoring for us and need others to start finding the target. Normal service should though resume against Brentford befor a difficult set of October fixtures.

I think a reality check would be a heavier defeat than 2-1.Tomorrows game is one of the more difficult ones to predict-quite frankly it could go any way. Brentford the week after will also be a very tough game-the 2-2 draw was definitely one of the better games at PP last season-they were very decent going forward and we needed a freak own goal to equalise.

No idea where this one will go, if we dont lift our game for it i fear this time we will be punished though!

Would be,made up with a point tomorrow... Would keep us top unless Stevenage have a goalfest. Our defence will be key tomorrow.... Another clean sheet most welcome!!!

A win would be great, but I'd take a point knowing Tranmere would almost certainly stay top.

It will be a test. All the teams we have played so far are in the lower half of the table. After just a few games that can be misleading but it does put Crawley into the category of a challenging fixture

Was a great game - we had a spell of very dodgy defending when they fired both of their goals in but soon regrouped and in the second half, absolutely put them to the sword.
Tough call for man of the match as there were so many candidates, from Fonners all the way to Butch. Special mentions must go to Holmes and Zoom who were both brilliant. But then again so was Ash.....and Palmer......and Robbo....the list goes on! Great day out!

Cracking result and due to other results, Tranmere could afford to lose and stay top next week, unless county get a mammoth win.

Onwards and upwards, or should that be onward and staying top now.

I am ready to eat plenty of humble pie tonight after my pessimistic outlook of a realty check (Sm126.). What a performance by the whole team against a side I believe will be fighting for a play of place. Nice to see others getting on the score sheet especially AA. This will do his confidence the world of good. Great first game for Cabletastics children, lifelong Rovers supporters now(Sm125). This is pure dream land at the moment, keep this eleven fit and who knows what may happen. Anywayoff to the (S8) to celebrate.

Just got my calculator out. If they hadn't scored 2 and we had scored 3 fewer then my prediction would have been correct.(Sm22)
