After Tranmere disappointly threw away a lead in the 96th minute of the home game against Brentford to earn a 1-1 draw, Manager Ronnie Moore admitted the result was probably a fair one....

Tranmere Manager Ronnie Moore was disappointed to see his side concede a late goal at home to Brentford but admitted that the result was probably a fair one in the end despite Rovers' much improved second half performance.

Speaking to Tranmere Player, Ronnie Moore said....

“It was a tough game from start to finish. We never really got going in the first half but they’ve had one shot and Fonners made a terrific save. We thought we could up the tempo in the second half which we did. We got at them and I thought we were the only side who were going to win. I couldn’t see them scoring."

“When we got a goal it was a fantastic finish from Jean-Louis. To concede the way we did, so late, it was sloppy. We let it bounce, we stepped back and it’s ended up in the back of our net."

“They’ll probably think it was a fair result, and overall it probably, but we’re greedy and we want the three.  It might have put us five points clear at the top so I think it was a slap in the face from someone to say ‘hey, you’re punching above your weight here’. It’s disappointing but it’s not the end of the world.”
