Scunthorpe Utd v Tranmere Rovers Match Discussion

By Deadly Submarine
October 1 2012

If you can't make Tranmere's game away at Scunthorpe United on Tuesday night, why not join in the banter right here with other Rovers fans who are unable to attend......

For those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, particularly the more costly and time consuming southern away games, we at Total Tranmere will be providing a Match Discussion Thread on the Site for every Rovers game.

The thread will allow you to discuss everything from the pre-match build up and starting line-up to the game it as it progresses and the post-match analysis.

Where possible, Total Tranmere staff will post up the starting line-up and substitutes on the thread as soon as it is made known at the game as well as a half-time report on how the game is going for the benefit of those who are unable to make it.

Stadium - Scunthorpe Utd

Tranmere of course, make the midweek trip to Scunthorpe United on Tuesday evening in NPower League One so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on?

Maybe if you have a friend or family member texting you from the game you can post their views here for others to see as the game progresses.

You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been along to the game.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

Admin staff will try and add the team and updates on the game on this thread where possible whilst there will also be our usual update service from our Twitter feed @totaltranmere so if you are not already following us it may be worth doing so!

Tough game. Will be tough to keep Clarke quiet. Hopefully have the likes of Robinson, Gibson and Wallace fit

Wish I hadn't said that I think after 12 games 'W6-D3-L3' would be a good start and put us on track for playoffs if that rate continued. Now I have a feeling we will lose next 3!!! Finger crossed that feeling is misplaced. It's the injuries and lack of quality-depth that make me wary.

Bit unsure about this one until I see the team sheet. If Wallace, Robbo and Gibson are all out I fear the worse. Lack of strength in the squad will be a telling factor. I just hope the replacements will man up and carry on the good work. Wallace and Robbo both missing will be a massive loss. However I am going to look on the pesamistic side and say 1-1. A hard earned away point. Just arrived in Scunny after a 5 hour drive up from the South so off for a pint. On another note, as Robbo is on 4 yellow cards would it be better for him to sit it out tonight incase he picks up another one and misses the Notts County game? Just a thought and open to discussion.

hoping for a draw which would be a good result in my opinion. if we have injuries i hope whoever comes in shows a better attitude than at port vale. just hope we can keep our good start going.

Yet another cracking result to come from behind and win 2 away games on the run is fantastic the goals keep flowing and we have a nice little cushion at the top of the table.

By the sounds of it was a much better performance in the 2nd half than 1st again, possible bad news is an injury to robbo.

Haven't posted on this site for about 2yrs, due to my disgust at Barnes's treatment and the mediocrity of Les's reign. I must admit I was sceptical of Ronnie's return, but there can be no doubt he has done really well.
I didn't want to comment until 10 games in but after this result he has got everyone believing, he's spent nothing and the team is scoring goals. A fantastic job he's done so far.

After a dreadful first half performance yesterday, we ran the show in the second 45. All we needed to do was score one chance and we'd go on to win. They were dropping deeper and deeper and looked very fragile.

McGurk in particular was excellent in the second half and his two corners for the first two goals was superb.

Wallace ran the show in midfield, playing some particularly lovely passes and breaking up play superbly whilst Palmer again had a great game.

I am still very concerned about Bell-Baggie, however. First half in particular, our best attacking outlet was Danny Holmes because Bell-Baggie refused to go on the overlap past him and failed to make any telling runs off the ball.

Second half, we attacked more down the left and through the middle and it worked so much better. We created more chances and looked more of a threat going forward.

However, terrific three points and the incredible run continues. If we can beat Notts County next week, things will be looking even better!

Magnificent performance. Real character shown considering we suffered the blow of late goal conceded on Sat, early goal conceeded last night and then Robbo going off. So proud of the lads it's un-true. It's great being a Rovers fan at the moment and I haven't said that much over the last 10 years! I'm starting to dream now..

Cracking result and County lost, so 4 points above second and 6 points above County. Bring on County HA!.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

Me too!
After winning the prediction league last season, I can't seem to predict anything and long may it continue. Especially if my wrong predictions keep us top.

SWA!
