Palmer to Stay as Rovers Extend Loan Deal

On loan Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Liam Palmer will reamin on loan at Prenton Park until the end of the season after signing a new deal at his parent club this afternoon....
There was an early transfer window boost for Rovers this afternoon with the news that on loan Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Liam Palmer is set to re-sign on loann until the end of the season after signing a new two year deal with the Owls this afternoon.
The midfielder of course has spent the first half of the season on loan at Prenton Park, starting every league game so far and being one of the star performers in helping the Club to the top of NPower League One.
There had been the possibility that his appearance in yesterday's 1-0 away win at Bury would be his last for the Club but after signing his new contract at Hillsborough today, Palmer will remain a Rovers player until the end of the 2012/13 season.
Speaking of the news of Palmer's stay being prolonged, Rovers Manager Ronnie Moore said...
“I’ve been delighted with Liam this season. He has been a model professional while he has been here and a credit to Sheffield Wednesday. He’s formed a great partnership with James Wallace and more recently Max Power in the centre of our midfield and he has improved as the season has gone on."
“I think there is more to come from him too. He’s not scored yet but I think he has goals in his game. I’d like to thank Sheffield Wednesday and Dave Jones for allowing Liam to come back to us.”
The move is subject to the completion of the necessary paperwork.
