Rovers defender Mark McChrystal leaves Wirral club by mutual consent to join League Two strugglers.......
Tranmere Rovers defender Mark McChrystal has left the club by mutual consent.
The former Partick man, who has spent the last month on-loan at Scunthorpe United, will now join struggling League Two side Bristol Rovers.
Centre-back McChrystal had failed to make an appearance for Tranmere this season after falling out of favour and struggling with injury over the past 11-months.
Indeed, the 28-year old has featured just twice since Ronnie Moore's return to Prenton Park last March, playing in Tranmere's defeat to Colchester and draw against Scunthorpe at the back end of last season.

A former Wolverhampton Wanderers player, McChrystal was born in Northern Ireland and joined Tranmere in January 2011 following a successful trial when Les Parry was manager of the club.
He featured 42 times over a two-year period with the club, with his only goal coming in his final appearance in the whie shirt.
McChrystal's departure during the transfer window always looked likely, with boss Ronnie Moore keen to free up wages and desperate to extend the loan stay of defender Donavorn Daniels from West Brom.

the season.
I was hoping he might have fetched a possible fee, as letting him go will have cost some money I'm sure and for his age and playing credentials, I think £100,000 wouldn't have been pricing him out of the market.
Good luck to him. A good proffessional and bolstered the teams strength up, at a time when players like Wood, Darville and Cathalina had not been inspring anyone.
Incidentally, I see when Marlon Broomes left Rovers, he went to Clitheroe and is now at Altrincham. I am surprised by this, as I thought he was capable of playing in better leagues than that. I even thought one or two league one clubs might have been interested.
Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.
