Not a good result, but still top so that's the main thing.

Though I said my piece on another thread, about what other teams are or could end up doing, so I need say no more.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

I was talking to some Orient fans on the way back to the station.When I suggested to them that they probably thought we were the worst team they've seen this season the reply was ''near enough yes''. That's how bad we were-woeful.And if OFW hadn't have saved the penalty,I dread to think what the score might have been.

Im beginning to think, they dont want to go up. Suppose theres some sense in that as they may keep there jobs at League 1 and some may lose there contracts at Championship level.....

The lack of challenges and keeping it tight from many of our players yesterday was disturbing.We also looked pretty clueless in their half during the second period when we had the ball with too many players treating the ball like a hot potato and looking as if they didn't know what best to do with it.We were terribly slow at getting the ball into their area and too many crosses throughout the whole game eventually went straight to their keeper if they got that far at all.

I do not believe that the players do not want promotion.Everyone,I would hope would want the challange of playing in a higher league (perhaps not PJ though!!!) If we do not gain promotion this year then I fear we may lose one or two of our 'better' players (Wallace, Zoom, Fon Williams). This is our best chance for many years.In my opinion jitters and nerves have set in big time throughout the team who now realise what may be around the corner! A small shake up using Black,BB and even Kay may make the others sit up and think. There also must be a striker out there worth having a punt on. Worth a try or we may fall into freefall. Top teams/sportsmen use sports psychologists to get players in the right mind set when times get tough but I fear the lack of pennies may be a problem there!!! Get behind the team on Friday as this could just be our most important game of the season. No negative vibes please.

The problem is nerves, the defence are so nervous of conceeding it almost becomes self fulfilling. The hurried clearances early on in the recent games has let to nerves spreading to midfield, and the long balls have left the strikers feeding on scraps, it's only when we go behind that we lose our fear and can play the free flowing football we did early on in the season.

As for the cure? A bit of hand holding perhaps, maybe some explaning of the reasoning that winning one losing 2 is as good as drawing all 3 so you may as well have a go!

Definatelty agree with above posts... be honest..how many of us fans are 'more nervous' now on saturdays that ever before?

At the top end of the table, generally, a win is essential to stay there... as in most cases, the teams up there win too. We all know that 3 points is a neccessity from most of our games now to get over the line.

In the past, loitering near the bottom, at times a point was a great result, three points were like christmas day! as any points on the board often meant closing the gap or climbing as teams down there generally lost. (Generally!)

In a positive light, looking at the 4 teams up at the top now, I believe we had the trickier game. Swindon missed a huge chance... id have put my mortgage, car, wife and kids on swindon picking up three points.... id have put the above plus my ipad on them winning after going 1-0 up!!!

Bournemouth beat a struggling portsmouth side who are, sadly, on a huge down. Again, that was almost a dead cert to be home win.... although, it took until half way through second half for them to score!

Doncaster, home game, also, i believe should have been three points - Flynns claim to be 'the best team in the division' should have waited until the end of the season in my opinion.... or at least kept within dressing room walls!

OK, most fans, myself included expected a semi decent perfomance against the Os, but we stay top... all be it until tuesday.... would quite happily be in a much worse position that this with one game to go!

Still remaining positive though, and with AA back after swindon with an apology to prove, and Wallace back hopefully late feb too, I believe we can quite easily hold our own up there and if not take the top two, id settle for a wembley trip!

Agree with the above post - we are now in that part of the season where playing a bottom club is no longer an advantage. Teams are desperate for points at both ends now

Good post SP, some valid points. yep even if we have a few more mixed results if we can stay in there who know maybe we will have a really strong last 10 games with Wallace & JLAA to come back. Does it not seem that Wallace always 2-3 weeks away? Never any closer!!

Bury have signed a striker, Crewe are giving Ellington a trial. Are we missing the plot here? Have these clubs got bigger budgets than us? I doubt it. If we leave it to late the season will be over or the player does not have enough games to bed in. RM keeps saying he is looking for the right kind of player. Give one or two a trial at least, nothing lost doing that, or is he still hopeing Cass may return? Utmost repect for what Ronnie has achieved this season but do question a few of his off the field decisions.

Ellington might be on trial at Crewe, but that does not mean they can afford him. He doesn't know what they can spend, or how their board and the accounts are funded and I'll bet it's a 99.99% certainty, if his agent starts yammering about £3,000-£4,000 a week, he'll be politely shown to the car park.

O'Halloran scored again at the weekend, so considering he's now bagged 2 and set up 1 or 2, he's hardly a big dissapointment.

Amoo is starting to appear like a bit of lame duck ever since he bagged that opener, but maybe with a proper run in the team wiht Akrpo he will improve.

Can't be difficult Hoots! I think Johnson should just tweek the budget a little and get a player in who can fire us to promotion. Surely we can afford to gamble a higher wage for a loan player for 2 months what with the TV money from the two home games as well?

I can remember a certain manager asking PJ to fork out for a player for another promotion push (premiership). It didn't happen, nor did the promotion.

It could be argued that extra money has been made available with the signing of Amoo.He does not look convincing but once the money is spent it is unreasonable to then expect it to be spent again.

IF AA returns and Wallace then the team will look better, I would also want to see Bell Baggie played as he gives genuine width and he is prepared to go outside the full back.

Wallace is a worry, and increasingly it is looking like one of those injuries that will run on and on. There is always adouby then whether the player will be the same. Navaroo, for example,never looked the same after injury.

I'd like to see us sign Damien Reeves from Altrincham.

Prolific Striker with 44 goals last season.

I realise he's a conference player, but even if he scored half of his last tally, he'd be our top scorer by a mile.
