Doncaster Rovers (A) Match Discussion Thread

If you can't make Tranmere's game away to Doncaster  Rovers in NPower League One on Saturday afternoon, why not join in the banter right here with other Rovers fans who are unable to attend...

Following football even at League One level is pretty expensive these days and no matter how much you love the Rovers, it will sometimes be difficult to make the games in person whether it be the lengthy away trips, or for exiles living elsewhere in the UK or abroad, the home games too.

As a result, for those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, we at Total Tranmere will be providing this match discussion thread for you to discuss developments with the game.

Stadium - Doncaster Rovers (New)

Tranmere of course, travel to Doncaster Rovers in NPower League One on Saturday afternoon so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on?  You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been to watch the game live.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

Its time for us all to stop the negativity! Lets get behind the team whoever Ronnie manages to put out. Yes injuries and now illness have plagued are season but did any right minded person (Eric excluded) really think are club would be in the postion we now are. I certainly didn't. This has been a lot better then worrying about relegation. We all have to accept that until the right person is found to take over and willing to invest a few bob we will be in the lower leagues. There are four games to go and who knows what may happen, it has been a funny old
season, but I for one have thoroughly enjoyed it. Give the players a break, show are support whatever is the outcome.

This is our last chance saloon. Win or bust.

Even if results go for us, a win is the only result that will give us a chance.

Cannot play long ball against these, because of Jones and McCoombes.

Can't see it happening even without Big Mama!

2-0 to them!

Enjoyed it while it lasted!

We will need more than JLAA & Stockton and in no way is Stockton ready to play a full seasons football as yet.

One slight issue with assessing Stockton, was the fact he didn't get much game time playing with Wallace who clearly bolstered Akpro's form in some way and Cassidy's to some extent too.

Stockton right now is more like David Fairclough was at Liverpool, minus some of that players prime playing skill, which he could possibly go on to develop maybe, but as yet doesn't have.

Definitely been a fairly important player though this season and a bona fide attitude on and off the pitch I feel.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

Stockton is def not the answer, not yet but we def need a goalscorer and, for me, a commanding, experienced centre half, like Rob Jones and centre mid-fielder to pplay alongside Wallace, not another youngster like Max or Palmer.

you want a goal scorer, stick with Cole and he will deliver, needs supply thought he was great with Thommo supplying him

I think they started 2 games together and at Braintree, Thompson went off injured before half time so dont think he has supplied him much.

If given enough time i think Cole will turn out to be a good striker at league 1 level at least. What i wouldnt like to see is us having to rely on him too much for goals at this early stage in his career. I think Ronnie is handling him well and fans need to be patient and not expect too much from him too soon.

well after watching Cole for a couple of years I can't agree, and fear RM ignoring home grown talent for what he selects as beter
