Tranmere Rovers v Leyton Orient Match Discussion Thread

By Deadly Submarine
October 18 2013

If you can't make Tranmere's home game against leaders Leyton Orient on Saturday afternoon, why not join in the banter right here with other Rovers fans who are unable to attend...

Following football even at League One level is pretty expensive these days and no matter how much you love the Rovers, it will sometimes be difficult to make the games in person whether it be the lengthy away trips, or for exiles living elsewhere in the UK or abroad, the home games too.

As a result, for those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, we at Total Tranmere will be providing this match discussion thread for you to discuss developments with the game.

Stadium - Tranmere Rovers (Day)

Tranmere of course, host League leaders Leyton Orient in Sky Bet League One on Saturday afternoon so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on?  You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been to watch the game live.

What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

I'll take a draw from this one. They are flying. However, if we keep it solid at the back, then there's always a chance a nicking a winner.

Ino we beat Bradford on Sunday but Leyton Orient are on fire atm and I can't see us putting out the flames. 0-2 Orient.

Mo you are right The O's are on fire and are unbeaten in their last 11 games...it is for this reason that I think we can win..this run must come to an end, they will not go the entire season unbeaten...consequently each game they play there will be a greater chance of them losing...Why can't that run end today?? Think we will win 3-1

Wasn't far out with the sending off and penalty prediction.... Bummer, things are looking bleak even for someone as optimistic as me as regards our survival. Looks like we will need a 1970s style , last gasp set of wins to stay up. I reckon Ronnie will be lucky to survive the season in charge.

Passed the ball around well to start with and then normal service was resumed. Ripped to shreds at the back. Sickening. Goodison's a %$%$head. The ref didn't know the rules regarding penalty kicks!

Ripped to shreds is right, one header their keeper pushed onto the post and that was it. They didn't really break into a sweat and just cruised about and waited for us to leave a hole - and we obliged. They are a football team, we are .......

The lack of shots during the games is diabolical, if you dont shoot or put in any decent crosses you will lose games.
Do we practice taking corners during training in fact do we train at all?

Re: Tranmere Rovers v Leyton Orient Match Discussion Thread

I think with some games the shots come but it's the accuracy that is an issue. What's the point of any team being in a game where you get 9-10 shots, then get a couple on the nose and don't score, whereas if you could get 3-4 on target at least you'd increase your scoring potential.

Goodison has now cost the team in some respects with his behaviour, because he will be unavailable for at least 1 game.

The team need to bounce back quickly. I still think if they can return to the kind of defending that was prevalent, in 5 of the previous 7 games, they will have a chance of getting something out of games, but that kind of defending they won't.

Tuesday is a good chance to recover, because they can get Orient out of their system and not have to wait too long to try and bounce back.

Winning on Tuesday suddenly makes it 2 wins out of 3 and the possibility to kick on, instead of getting what now looks like a false start with the Bradford game.

This result need putting out mind and the team need to focus on Tuesday, because any game is winnable in this league and it's not the same as Spain playing Tahiti in the confederations cup, so Tranmere should have some hance of winning each game, just like anyone hould and the sooner they start finding more attacking momentum the better.

You win as a collective and you lose as collective, regardless of who is in the squad and who manages it.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

We were well in the game until they scored the second goal which looked a somewhat fluky finish from where I sat. Then Moore made the totally incomprehensible decision to take Hateley off. There was then no cover for the defence even before Goodison's stupid sending off. Added to that,Lowe who had yet again been starved of any service up front was mysteriously moved to centre midfield, we just collapsed. Sodje up front on his own with Baggie just behind him was another strange enigma of the last quarter of an hour.

Good luck to Orient, they are the small club amongst the front runners. I wish them well.

No Deadly but it will happen, Ronnie's lost it he should retire. I respect him for what he has done for the club as a player and a manager at Tranmere but we have to move on and if we lose to his beloved Rotheram (probs happen) it will be the right way to end his career.

what bad luck? we were easily beaten and they didn't even have too play that well.

We started off ok passing the ball around but with very little creativity. Ash nearly scored in the first half and Kirby should've scored when put through but we created little else. We should have been in their faces from the start closing them down getting stuck in but we did very little of that. Goodison totally lost it and will now miss the next 3 games.

We are in desperate trouble we haven't won at home since march and our next 4 away games are Rotherham, Preston, Coventry & Wolves.

I can only think that the cost of sacking Ronnie means he is still our manager.

I fear we will go down if something is not changed sooner rather than later.

Bad luck ?? bad decisions?? . Not the game i watched. I think we got away with a 4-0 defeat. Don't forget they missed a penalty and hit the post earlier in the game. It was a typical Trfc performance for this season, we huffed and puffed for half an hour passed it about nicely but without actually achieving anything then conceded due to very poor defending and then down with the heads and Ian Good ison (team captain) loses his head. Sorry to say it but huge changes off the pitch need to be made , and that does mean RM needs to go.

we played a team for the most part with ten men, whos record is played 12, Won 10, and drwan 2 scored 31 conceded 8 ! gs +25
Compaired to our played 12, won 2 drawn 2 and lost 8. gd -15

Their second goal was after 61 minutes- Goodison was sent off soon after that-hardly ''the most part''

Orient's goal difference is +23.

I can't even think of a suitable answer for your last sentence, particularly the last word.

@gony, people are understandably upset at the moment we are getting beat most weeks we have won at home since march we have failed too score in the last 3 home games and created very little in those games.

I would rather people had their moans on a forum rather than abuse the players and management at the game. This forum is for people to air their views and lets face it the way thing have been since February people are rightly fed up and unhappy with what they have witnessed.

whats the problem with airing views wether negative or positive? the problem on this site is you get slated for having an opinion thats why the site is so quiet these days. Ronnies time is up, its obvious for all to see. We are totally off the boil this season, league 2 will be the death of us. Attendances will drop to 3.5k , it will be absoultley panic stations for the club. We need a fresh face just to keep us up, and re-group in the summer. Sorry Ronnie it hasnt worked out, i will still applaud you , you will always be part of the SWA

like getting shut of Parry helped ? Barnes ? McAteer ?,
what we have is what we are what is Tranmere Rovers, are you a TranmereFan ?I think you are but you chose to pick and chouise when you surrort Tranmere ? or do you think that your post was one in support of Tranmere ?
Did you post after we beat bradford ? did you praise the players and Rm ? did you get behind them ? or were you just waiting to have a go at them .

Good to see us beat Bradford. We played like a team for the first time in a long time. But once decent result once in a while is just not good enough. Its been going on for too long. Barnes was a joke, Parry was a trial, Macateer was a meerly a side-kick. Ronnie has proven his abilites in the past, but things are not right. i support the club and team which is Tranmere Rovers, always have done. Been a season ticket holder since i was about 10. So after watching them for over 20 years i would say i am a Tranmere fan. That doesnt mean i have to support the manager to the death.

Thats the point i support Tranmere the club , and i would like to think i can see whats best for the club as i do go the games and whats needed to turn them around and thats new mangement.

If you want to wildly just clap and cheer Ronnie just because he happens to be in charge then thats up to you. But you will look a bit silly come last day of the season and your shouting give me a Ronnie Ronnie Ronnie

It's noticeable that all 4 teams that were relegated from Division 1 last season are currently in the bottom half of Division 2.
