Preston North End v Tranmere Rovers Match Discussion Thread
By Deadly Submarine November 2 2013
If you can't make Tranmere's game away at Preston North End on Saturday afternoon, why not join in the banter right here with other Rovers fans who are unable to attend...
Following football even at League One level is pretty expensive these days and no matter how much you love the Rovers, it will sometimes be difficult to make the games in person whether it be the lengthy away trips, or for exiles living elsewhere in the UK or abroad, the home games too.
As a result, for those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, we at Total Tranmere will be providing this match discussion thread for you to discuss developments with the game.
Tranmere of course, travel to Preston North End in Sky Bet League One on Saturday afternoon, so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on? You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been to watch the game live.
What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

I'm sitting on the fence, it all depends if we can keep a clean sheet. If Hateley plays in the holding midfield role and contains their midfield we have a chance of getting a result.

Good first half. Just seem to be passing it around well and then making sloppy mistakes ang giving them possession. Defence have worked hard and done well to keep them out.
We were robbed today much better team in the second half. Should have been all three points. The goal kicks today was terrible it either goes to them or out.
A bit gutted that we didn't hold on but was very pleased with the second half showing after a not very good first half performance. I would have taken a point before the game but........so near yet.......
A excellent goal by Atkinson[could see it was in from the moment it left his boot] created by a swift burst through the middle by Max and a excellent through ball.Again showed what can happen when we get players forward and don't leave Lowe on his own[which again we did far too often for comfort]
The seventh minute was surreal-the minute's applause-brilliant-excellently supported by the Preston fans who are a credit to their club. There was a lot of very supportive chanting for Joe throughout which was great to hear.

A good result, but losing the lead so late on stung a bit. The only minor positive from losing the lead was it only cost Tranmere one league place, because before the game was out there about 5-6 league places available and if they could have gone 3-4 places higher up with that win, it would hurt more to lose it.
Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

If we can keep up form of last 5 games, things look good, despite the 'have it on authority everyone hates RonnIe' assertion. Not sure how the team can start to create more chances like in the beginning of last Season, playing as it does though. Lowe needs service.
I find the use of Koumas incomprehensible. He is clearly not fit and he has never been a defender. Surely it would have made sense to use the more mobile and defensively capable Jennings.

Fantastic
It's really disappointing that the Preston fans' involvement wasn't mentioned on the football league show. The way that they showed it made out that only the Tranmere fans were applauding. A chance to show football fans at their best spurned.

Agreed but I expect nothing less from the Football League Show to be honest.
Joe Thompson was sat in front us in the Invincibles. He recorded the applause on his phone from all round the ground.he seemed in good spirits. Good luck to the lad
From Gerona
Brilliant positivity hope the lad beats this. Well done North Enders.
Well done indeed to PNE fans. And a big well done to all of us too.
The thread ''on the coach to Preston'' posted on the other board backs up my view [based on what I saw at the station going and back from the ground after the game] that although the Preston fans were a credit to their club last Saturday, other people ''doing their job'' were somewhat over zealous to put it mildly.
