RM blamed the centre halves,nothing to do with him selecting Kirby ahead of Robbo then? Said the lad had to pull the player down?He should have trusted Fonners,or let them score & get it back with 11 men,why bring someone down & lose a man? he always blames everyone else,never himself

Which game were you watching tonight because it sure as hell wasn't the same one I saw.

In what world should Robbo play ahead of Kirby? Kirby has been doing alright and Robbo for all we know at not have been fully fit.

He did well when he came on which is a good sign but he rarely keeps that up for 90 minutes let alone after coming back from injury.

Ronnie is spot on to blame the back two as they were about as incompetent as you can get tonight. Even Foster would have been better than those two tonight!

That's part of the problem Ronnie blames anybody but himself, he never puts his hands up and says he got it wrong even though Koumas & Wallace in centre midfield was a disaster waiting too happen.

We are really in big trouble now, we were beaten by a better team which is very worrying as they are poor. We need to go back to basics and try and grind out a result or two. At the moment we are far too easy too play against and its very easy to score against us.

I really cant see where the next win is coming from.

Fon Holems & Lowe were the only players to do themselves justice last night the rest were either poor or worse.

I thought Wallace was getting stuck in a bit, and that jlaa should have come off first not Kirby. Would be tempted to give Stockton a start with Lowe next time
The main problem is that we look likely to concede at any time. Fon made a good save first half, at 1 point we had 3 men surrounding their player who still got as shot off, and they had other chances too. I think we are averaging something like 2 goals conceded every game

What surprised me last night was how slow we seemed to be at the back.

The number of times Ridehalgh was beaten for pace down the left hand side was scary.

Unfortunately in Jean Louis Akpra Akpro we have a striker totally out of form and lacking in confidence. If his chance had gone in, or it'd been Lowe having that chance I think it'd have given us a lot more confidence.

We were on the back of two bad defeats and the nerves were showing that they didn't want to concede.

As soon as Gillingham scored just before half time it was evident that it was 'here we go again' from the players.

If we want to play Wallace and Koumas together then there's no doubt we need to sacrifice a wide player or striker for a holding midfielder.

Koumas could run the show at this level with his range of passing, but to do that you need to give him the ball. He didn't get on the ball anywhere near enough for me last night.

It also needs a lot of work with the younger players, Kirby and Peterson in making runs that he picks out.

Wallace is the type of player who will anticipate the balls from Koumas, but he was playing the deeper midfield role last night.

Sub, Kirby hasn't done anything wrong. I just think for such an important match I would have preferred an experienced Robbo to start. We all know what he can do.

To have strated with Robinson would have been very odd. He is never the fittest and after alomg lay off it is hard to see what he would offer.What I cannot undersatnd is why we persist with JLAA. Since last October he has been poor and getting worse.

The sending off record this season is awful and suggests a team that is too often overstretched and that lacks discipline. The manager has to take some responsibility for that even if the specific incidents are down to the players.

Our inability to win key points at home against weak opposition gives no room for optimism.By this stage of the season and with wallace back there seem to be no aces in the pack.Some loan players going may be the only way to shuffle a patently inadequate current collection

Yet if McNulty chooses to get himself sent off, then Ronnie shouldn't apologise.

Incdientally how much of a difference would it mean to anyone if he did apologise more. Would people who want him gone be begging for his retention right now?

As for Tranemre getting wins, it's bene two league games, and a cup match since they won. Peterborough lost 5 before that 1-0 to Wolves and they would have had more reason to be concerned, because a club with a £1,100,000 signing losing 5 in a row looks a lot worse than a club with players bought for less than £100,000 losing 2 league games in a row.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

He made a mistake in bringing the man down, not only did it cost us in that game he misses the next game too which could be costly as well

Agreed. Taylor was to blame for the red card like he was to blame for most of the other mistakes in the game too.

We have to face that every game now is relegation battle. We simply arent good enough as the table doesn't lie.

I totally agree with hoots Mon and I can't believe what Ronnie said after the match. from where I was sitting, the lad could have got into the area On the outside but chose to cut inside in order to get some contact to go down. Mcnulty could have easily put his hands up at that moment and outcome would have been a free kick to us and a yellow for diving. Its just inexperience. I'm surprised Ridehalgh avoided criticism, for me at left back he was outstripped every time causing all sorts of problems. He's been good but he had a mare On Friday and was equally as responsible as the other two

Try offering some support and helping them out maybe???

So exactly how many pub team managers would have kept Rotherham in the championship, got Tranmere close to the playoffs only then to be sacked and come back to Tranmere and got 12th place when they were perilously close to the drop zone?

As for slagging his players off at every opportunity, did he do it after they beat Coventry? No.

How much slagging did he give players after they drew to Bristol City? None that I can recall.

How much slagging off have players like Fon Williams or Lowe gotten recently? none.

It might be a bit ott to be public about it I agree, but when some players who can defend, contribute to 3 consecutive defeats in all competitions, then they can't expect to be patted on the head and told there, there, I'm sure you'll play better next time.

Although he does perhaps need to reassess the levels of tact he uses after certain results.

However one argument could be that if Ronnie's supposed criticism of players is affecting confidence, as opposed to it just stemming from the cup result and possibly press speculation about players as well, then maybe some players need to man up a bit more and do things that won't give their manager reason to beef.

If the centres had defended the final third better and McNulty hadn't given the referee an excuse to send him off, Tranmere might have won and Ronnie would have no cause to beef.

As for Ronnie helping players more, I am not aware of how much or how little he does week in week out, so I can't comment on whether he's more like a Keith Alexander type manager, or an Alex Ferguson type manager behind the scenes, though he did say once he used to be much more of a ranter in his younger days, but less so now, so presumably that means he's either mellowed more with age, or gone soft, dependng on how you look at it.
