Sheffield United v Tranmere Rovers Match Discusson
By Deadly Submarine
December 28 2013
If you can't make Tranmere's game away at Sheffield United on Sunday afternoon, why not join in the banter right here with other Rovers fans who are unable to attend...
Following football even at League One level is pretty expensive these days and no matter how much you love the Rovers, it will sometimes be difficult to make the games in person whether it be the lengthy away trips, or for exiles living elsewhere in the UK or abroad, the home games too.
As a result, for those fans who can't make some of the Rovers games this season, we at Total Tranmere will be providing this match discussion thread for you to discuss developments with the game.

Tranmere of course, travel to Sheffield United's Bramall Lane on Sunday, so if you're not going to the game why not join in the banter right here while the game is going on? You could also use this thread to discuss other interesting scores throughout the league as well as discussing this game afterwards if you have been to watch the game live.
What you discuss below is up to you but hopefully it can all be focused on one thread to make it easier for everyone to use.

If we play against Shrewsbury the way we did second half we will win.
But I'd be more than happy with a draw.

Where`s Hateley why not on the bench just to make the numbers up also may have done better at fullback in place of Power!

no excuse for poor subs bench, hateley, mcnulty, otsemorbor- all injured? or victims of RM's man mamagement?
If the likes of callum morris were good enough for the bench a couple of months ago why not now? may explain poor reserve performances if no incentive of promotion
- I just don't think we are fit enough!
Why didn't we offer the johnny king stand to wolves, no discounts 1500 all full price tickets, take them all if you want them, wolves could afford it, and it would fund some decent players (open to debate as to whether DP would recognise them) in January.
New Year - New Owner - New Manager.
As regards the Trust, not enough information to justify their involvement - who would comprise the new board, what are the skills they are bringing & how much have the trust board put in themselves? (Any truth in the suggestion that part of their plans are for all none playing /coaching staff to be made redundant?)
Roll on Wolves

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.
Our poor defending allowed them their first and minutes later, Lowe does brilliantly to beat the Keeper to a header, run towards goal but his chance is blocked....
..that goes in and the way we were playing at the time I think we may well have won.
Add to that the most blatant handball you will see in the build up to their third goal, a Sheff Utd player not getting sent off for a two footed challenge and all round poor and picky officiating and we can count ourselves unlucky today.
Robinson was unfit from the start and spent the first half having a go at others and in particular one moment when he was totally at fault and yet volleyed abuse at Horwood.
I never thought I'd see the day Rovers fans cheered his number going up to be subbed off but today it happened and although it doesn't help to do this it wasn't a surprise it happened.
As for the defence, Horwood should have been back in ages ago anyway but if Ridehalgh is going back then a back-up player is needed. Taylor was my MOTM today and McNulty was ill and should be back Wednesday.
Right back is an issue but with Hateley injured too it is desperate times.

The difference was today was taking the first chance that came the way of each side.

I may be in a minority of one but I thought that the ref had a good game. However I thought he got JLAA's booking wrong and, having seen photo 15 on the official site, I see what you mean about the two footed tackle, though I and the lad next to me both said yellow card at the time. If Lowe wasn't so isolated up front, he could have set up a tap in for somebody else. But as per normal, there was nobody within yards of him.
They had nine shots in the first half,5 on target and we also had a good number of narrow escapes .Apart from Lowe's two shots, I don't remember any efforts we had in the first half.
The 'handball' for the third goal was three quarters of the length of the pitch away from our goal, so we had plenty of chance to stop the move.
Taylor, Lowe and Koumas were the only ones who did okay today.
McNulty was ill
Hateley was injured.
We now also have injured: Holmes, Goody, Thompson, Wallace, Edwards, Otsemebor
& Baggie + Sodje won't be selected either - Ronnie would rather go one man short on the bench then select them.
Pritty big wage bill for people not available there - think we all agree on that.
Jennings & Robbo just come back from injury not 100% fit too and Ridehalgh going back to Huddersfield soon with question marks over the other loanees.
Ronnie needs to sort it out come Jan.

We should have defended it but if the obvious handball is given the game stops, we have the ball just inside our half and they don't score in that instance.
The ball was in their half not ours.

Well there we go. An even more crucial point for the game not to have been stopped then! Disgrace!
