If Koumas plays he'd be worth a cheeky £5 bet for some on a goal, as he's found a little vein of scoring form recently. I'm not sure why it's taken a long time to get one but now think he's got a higher scoring rate than Ryan Lowe, which is good competition.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

To be honest with thr injurys and hapless mcmahon tactics .i fear the worst .but will stick my neck out and say 1-0

Today mcmahon proved he is in the same mould as the hapless les parry .totaly clueless dont use the subs dont change anything .all i can think is he just does not watch the game he must sleep through it .one point fron two home games which is a dissgrace .so please go away mcmahon your a bloody clown .put rover the dog in charge .might even drop cassidy and play stockton .

To be fair we played well for most of the game and it was the finishing that let us down badly. On that basis Stockton should have got on but apart from that I could understand them leaving it a while before making the sub they did as we were dominating the rest of the play.

Three decent enough performances in a row and one point. Sadly there is no way back now but it's not been without some incredible bad luck in the last three matches.

I have to say, the game was there for the taking today. Jennings was outstanding. Cant fault JLAA for his effort, but he really needs extra practice with the final ball, and he could be a decent player. Cassidy has lost all confidence by the looks of it, feel for him a bit, but weve gotta give Stockton a chance , as we need goals badly. Johnny Mc, is not the man for the job at all. He might be a decent coach, but he cant be a manager if he cant see we have to change things when its 0-0.

I cant see us staying up tbh, and with PJ saying we need to be a "self sustaining club" , we can only do that in league 2, with lower wages etc.. The core 2.5k season ticket holders will probably stay. And until a rich group of people buy a load of shares we will have to stay living within our means. Sad to watch us these days, sometimes feel like im being ripped off , when i buy i ticket every week and its obvious, no one on the pitch besides a few really seem to want to win a game.... but i can understand if your playing for a club that is a bit lost it might not make you particulary proud to play for them. We should stick with our youth development players next year, and get a bit of team spirit going with local lads and not just loan signings all the time. It might do us good.

I can explain it no more than you can unfortunately!

Massive week that was, 2 home games against very mediocre opposition, had enough chances to win both games at a canter but the harsh reality is 1 point, call it lack of luck or whatever you want but the team just isn't good enough, it was crying out for a cool head to finish instead of trying to burst the net with some of the chances especially in the second half, I can't come up with the solution I'm just a disappointed season ticket holder wishing this season was just a bad dream but I'll leave you with a question someone might like to answer : Why do we have two forwards hugging either touch line miles apart when the keeper keeps kicking down the middle for the centre half to think its his birthday and our two forwards too far away to even think about challenging for the ball. Wish we all had the right answer and not just opinions !

Smart Rover, please see previous comments re this shortcoming, it has been highlighted for months.

Share everybody's disappointment re Cole, it appears that JM will persist until Jake scores, so that he turn around and tell us that he had been right all along.

Other disappointment aside from result, was the performance of our substitute winger, especially the lack of commitment.
I realise that these selections are often determined by budget, or the lack of it, but it begs a question as to whether we watched him play at Leeds, and as such are failing to play to his strengths, or whether this was a panic bargain signing.
Regardless of this, many are calling for a clear out at the end of the season, I sincerely hope this will include Dave Philpotts, since I struggle to remember the last rough diamond he identified and brought to the club. Indeed the majority of last summer's signings, and recent loan signings are all struggling to get in the first team.
Finally, memo to coaching staff - focus on shooting practice this week

I love the way Dave Philpotts always becomes a scapegoat when people run out of ideas.

His job is as much about scouting upcoming opposition and relaying to the management as finding "rough diamonds".

Sad that our best players today were Goodi/Jenno and Pennington imo. All defensive players...

Had chances and poor finishing/good saves stopped us but too often back to lumping it forward and HOPING something happens.

Kirby was atrocious - and leeds lad should have been on earlier (surprised as in past games J Mc been quite decisive with the subs)

Cassidy did better deserved a goal.

Akpro gives us an outball with his pace. Although doesn't seem as strong as he was?

Also frustrating was the fact we seemed unable to put more than 2 passes together.....and I'd hope that would be where the coaching staff look to improve. You can play 424 as we pretty much finishes but if you don't have good options available to pass to its not as attacking as having more men in midfield.

We are playing every game with 10 men because Kirby is nowhere near good enough for this league. I am still baffled as to what Moore saw in him.

tbf i know for a fact phillpots has submitted reports on the opposition with the wrong scores and missing goals!!

Alex Hay strikes me as someone young/passionate and probably cheap who could probably do the role better (especially with his recent knowledge of the lower leagues)

I fear that you are losing touch with the majority of longstanding fans viewpoints.
Nonetheless, as with Fonners (see further criticism above from Smart Rover) the floor is your to provide the case for the defence, so please, advise:
1- this season's quality signings
2- instances of tactical nous, which have enabled us to take advantage of opposition failings, this season, or turn games around.

As an aside, the scouts in Liverpool who brought Tony Thomas, Kenny Irons & Ged Brannan, have introduced many players this season who have been discarded purely on physical size ( and not offered a full trial).

I find it disappointing that having failed to put forward any meaningful argument previously, (merely quoting anybody with a vaguely complimentary view, yet ignoring those who might have a contrary opinion) you now suggest my post is somewhat simplistic.

It remains the case that you have yet to post any considered opinions, or insightful ideas.

It would be encouraging were you to address the above, but I imagine that is unlikely.
To that end, thee old adage - put up or shut up, appears pertinent.

A game we should have won against a very poor team, the finishing was poor especially in the second half when the players are blasting the shots rather than placing them.

I was always baffled too by what Ronnie saw in him myself but then I thought mid way through this season he was doing well and looked the best of the wing options we had.

However more recently when the chance has been there for him to cement his claim for a place he hasn't performed, particularly at home.

Can you please clarify and expand your fourth to last paragraph starting ''as an aside''. Thanks

I know a chap who has a long history of involvement with amateur youth football in Liverpool.
Close friends with Ronnie Taylor amongst others.
Previously highlighted the talents of the players mentioned.
I was advised that he highlighted several promising players over the course of the last couple of seasons, but regardless of their abilities, they were deemed (by John Ebrell) not to have the physical attributes to succeed, and as such were not given the opportunity for a full trial.
I am not sure whether you have had the opportunity to watch the youth/ reserve teams this season, but unlike in years gone bye, we do not appear to be blessed with much talent aside from those who have already appeared for the first team, and certainly nobody hammering on the door demanding consideration (Stockton & Power aside).

Kirby is not exactly a shining example of the ''years gone by''. There were a number of people on here who were less than impressed with the decisions made in that particular season for starters.

It is depressing if physical attributes are the main criteria being used for being given a trial by our club.

Sums up Ronnie to be honest, rejecting players because of size, no surprise we let a good CB prospect go without a fair chance and now have Boland in the development squad who is 6ft 5!!!
