A look at the key fixtures for Rovers' first fourth tier League campaign for over twenty years after they were unveiled earlier in the week….
The release of the League Two fixtures for the 2014/15 season on Wednesday saw confirmation that Rovers will open their campaign at home to York City on Saturday 9th August followed by consecutive away trips to Shrewsbury Town and Wycombe Wanderers, the latter of which is on a Tuesday night. Rovers will also finish the season at home on Saturday 2nd May when Bury and Ryan Lowe come to Prenton Park, setting up an interesting finale for Rovers fans.

As well as the early season trip to Wycombe, Rovers have three other lengthy Tuesday night trips to Newport County, Cambridge United and Mansfield Town during the season whilst the Easter weekend sees Rovers travel to Stevenage on Easter Saturday before hosting Luton Town on Easter Monday.
Over the Christmas period, Rovers travel to Burton Albion on Boxing Day, host Northampton Town two days later and then make the long trip to Portsmouth for the first game of 2015 on Saturday 3rd January.

Can't envisage Northampton will draw a bumper christmas crowd - what happened to local fixtures, to reduce fan travelling
It is two weeks until pre-season starts and things are still very quiet. I hope that the lad signed from Wolves is not seen as the most important part of the puzzle. In my opinion we need at least 6-8 more players in before we have any squad to talk about. One of those will need to be a very experienced centre back (possibly two) and I would also say that an experienced striker would be a priority. If Jenno stays then the midfield should be sorted but I still worry about the centre of defence and some attacking wide players. There are some pretty good squads taking shape in the division and we are not going to be competitive unless we have some know-how on the park and in the squad. I'm sure that the manager knows this though and I look forward to a productive couple of weeks.
Patience is a virtue. We have a new manager who is working on building the team. He is paid to do the worrying. And yes, he will take in trialists during pre-season. He cannot possibly do any worse than the dynamic duo and even Ronnie last season as regards defenders. There, I have got us relegated with positivity lol
