Can You Help Total Tranmere to Grow?

Total Tranmere have several different ways that you can help contribute to one of the longest running Unofficial Tranmere Rovers websites.....

In an effort to much improve our service to the readers of this site, Total Tranmere is always looking for voluntary help with a number of aspects of the site and here we provide information about four ways you can help us out if you feel you want to get involved.

All positions are voluntary and there are no closing dates for expressions of interest as the positions that aren’t filled will be continually advertised at stages throughout the year.

In addition to the four positions below we are always on the lookout for anyone who has an interest in writing about Tranmere Rovers whether it be a one off contribution or story or a series of articles. We would welcome any such contributions at any time during the season or the summer break.

Breaking News Reporter

Due to work constraints during the daytime for the webmaster, Total Tranmere has often struggled to bring you breaking Rovers news as it happens. As a result we are looking for a volunteer with free time during the day (Monday to Friday) to become a Breaking News Reporter.

The role will simply involve writing up and publishing on the website a quick article about an item of breaking news shortly after it has been announced by Tranmere. As a thanks for our ongoing support for the Club, Total Tranmere has access to all official press releases from Tranmere Rovers which are e-mailed to us around the time of any announcement and sometimes before it hits the Club’s Official Website so this is a facility we could offer for any volunteer to receive these e-mails.

There is no age limit on this position, you can be a student with spare time in the day that has the desire to eventually go into sports journalism and thus use this as a way of gaining vital experience or you could be a retired person able to help out during the daytime hours. Or you could be anyone in between! All you need is internet access during the day and the time to spare.

For further information this role, or to express an interest, please e-mail info@total-tranmere.co.uk.

Match Preview Writer

Another area in which Total Tranmere has missed out for a number of years is not having a match preview prior to each Rovers game so we are looking for someone who can produce a weekly (and sometimes twice weekly if there is a midweek game), match preview for Rovers games.

The length of these articles and what they feature is up to the successful volunteer to decide but can feature anything from injury news, past meetings, recent form of the teams and maybe even a score prediction or betting tip!

There would be no obligation to provide a match preview every time there is a game but the more that can be published, the better for the site.

For further information this role, or to express an interest, please e-mail info@total-tranmere.co.uk.

Web Graphics Assistant

Total Tranmere often has the need for some smart graphics for its stories or sometimes needs specific headers creating for the site.

If you are reasonably expert in the use of Photoshop or similar software and think you can help us out (only occasional requests will be needed - possibly bi-monthly or maybe even less) then let us know at the address below. Please note a sample of previous work may be requested at the time of expressing interest.

Social Media Researcher

Total Tranmere are hoping to try to do more to combine the many views and opinions mentioned on social media, with the platform that the website offers to those supporters who do not have access to social media.

Initially as part of this, we are looking to begin a new series of features as part of our pre-match offerings on the website which will see us speak to a fan of the opposing team Rovers are next due to face about everything from how their season is going, whether it matches expectations and how they think their side will do against Rovers in upcoming game.

Total Tranmere is therefore looking for someone who can use social media to seek out fans of teams Rovers are due to face a few weeks in advance of the game and ask them if they wish to take part in one of our fan interviews.  Once an opposing fan has agreed, the chosen helper can either choose to conduct an interview themselves with that fan or time permitting, pass the information on to the senior Total Tranmere webmaster to follow-up.

There are no special requirements for anyone interested in volunteering to carry out this role. All that is required is that you have your own Facebook and Twitter accounts that you don’t mind using (access to the Total Tranmere Twitter and Facebook is currently not practical but could be sorted in future if all goes well) and a keen interest in talking to opposition fans about their Club and ours on behalf of the Total Tranmere website.

If there is more than one expression of interest for this role, the interested parties may be required to carry out a mock interview with the Total Tranmere webmaster as part of a trial!

Thanks to those who have responded to the above positions so far - it's beyond the response I expected and all but one role has had at least one expression of interest!
