George Green joins Rovers

Just noticed we've signed a 19 year old midfielder, George Green, on loan from Everton until the end of the season, a bit late recognising the weaknesses in midfield me thinks.

Needed a centre back but i will welcome a midfielder who cost everton 2 million

if he can stop the opposition running through us at will, he`ll be an improvement on what`s currently there, lets hope he can have the same impact a fully fit james wallace had

A lot of people including Ross Barkley saying good things . Looks like this kid could be one of the better ones.

Spoke to a lad here in the office and he goes to the youth/reserve games at EFC. He says that he's an attacking midfielder who has promise, but is unlikely to get into the Everton team in the near future.

Hopefully another Wallace and he can make an impact, and we can scratch out a deal with Everton in the summer

can`t be that good then, loaned to a poor league 2 team and they have allowed his contract to run down.......oh dear, lets wait and see before we carry him shoulder high through the streets of birkenhead

Another one to add to the long list of emergency loan signings........13 in all now!

we now have Jennings-power-gardner-laird-myrie-Williams-molyneux-and now green for midfield,green may be the greatest and save us,but surely a centre half would of been better,not knocking green at all

A lad at work coaches at Everton & Green was mentioned earlier in the season as a player who would do good at Tranmere,apparently he is well thought of & is a good signing

Look at YOU TUBE Everton v Birmingham City in the FA Youth Cup Final...he practically won it on his own! Hope he gets a game on Sat.

Supposedly good in midfield and upfront, so skill and flexibility are a good thing, as then he can be adapted to different situations.

Frankly if he helps keep the team up then good and as he's local he shouldn't have any issues with being unsettled, not like a kid who could have come all the way from Charlton missing his family and is bored dossing the Village Hotel, as hopefully Green would be close to family and be able to go home every day to the bosom of his creature comforts.

I have a good feeling about this signing and it's shoeing the re-emergence of links with Everton that started to occur with Wallace and Baxter and that's important too.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

Looked a decent player today as well as motm and a goal to top it off.

He is quality, he will be signing long term with us, i've followed his progress after the shite turned him down and he rejected Spurs, to come to us.

Liverpool were among the covetous throng of admirers, but Christie insists Green, who had an earlier trial with the Anfield club, was adamant he did not want to return.

The best debut for us I've seen from a young player for a long time. He was on a different planet to the rest of the players on the pitch and what a fantastic goal. I noticed that Joe Royle and David Unsworth were in the stand watching. Like the rest of us,they must have been mightily impressed.

Spot on Hoots. I don't think I've ever seen a debut performance from a player where he looked so clearly in a different class to everyone else on the pitch.
