A place for fans of both Rovers and Stevenage to discuss Friday afternoon's upcoming match at Lamex Stadium as Rovers look to build on the 1-1 home draw against AFC Wimbledon last weekend...

With the 2014/15 League Two season now into it's final seven matches, our match discussion thread returns as Rovers approach two upcoming Easter weekend games starting with Friday afternoon's trip to Stevenage.  Tranmere are of course going into the game on the back of a much improved performance and subsequent 1-1 home draw against play-off chasing AFC Wimbledon and will be looking to build on that result.

Whether you are unable to make the game for any reason, or even if you are attending, this is the place to discuss all the pre-match build up including team line-up and score predictions, events during the match itself and all the post match fall-out and analysis.   The thread is open to fans of both sides to discuss the events surrounding the game so if you haven't got a Message Forum accounts yet then why not sign up now?

 Fans at Bristol Rovers

During the game, Total Tranmere will also be providing Live updates from Prenton Park via our Facebook and Twitter accounts so if you don't already do so, why not follow us why not do it right now so you don't forget later!  Just click on the two links above to go to our Social Media accounts.

What do I think? I think Stevenage will watch George Green's goal, cack their undies and lose (Sm7).

Help, they have the little Messi on loan, we are screwed.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

Can't see anything other than a defeat. The obnoxious Graham Westley has got hia team to the edge of the promotion places and will drive them on.

As usual I hope I am wrong.

I don`t hold out much hope, a big physical highly motivated team, everything we can`t deal with, 2-0 loss for me which will be a shame as everyone around us has tough games, a win for us would would stir up a hornets nest as everyone around will expect us to lose, hope i`m wrong

might as well go for the win and play odejayi and hume upfront with gardner myrie-williams and green behind them if we can get 3 points good start to easter games

Stevenage will use a tatic's of putting someone or two on Green who will give him a sly kick on his ankle this will slow him down and around thirty minute mark Green will have to be taken off thus ending the threat it is the Fourth Division we are playing in,well a least for now.

Game end's 1-1 at best but more likely we will get beat after going down to ten men after Hume get's sent off for protesting about Green's injury.

2-0 win against the odds. Graham Westley blaming the officials for his bruisers getting beaten. We go on to win all of our games after this.

Well I can hope can't I?

With what micky adams said in his press conference today. They have two small lads up front but are a threat and not the normal stevenage i would be inclined to get ihewike and donacien in the centre with holmes and ridehalgh out wide i think that gives us a better defence to cope with stopping crossed coming in with two natural defenders out wide. I'd also play 4-1-3-2 with jenno just in front of the defence to help out with the two tricky lads up front and then give power and green the freedom to roam from box to box where they both can be deadly and hume and odejayi up top could link up well. I am extremely hopeful for Friday more optimistic than i have been for 3-4 weeks!!

win the midfield battle you win the game, that wont happen with power and jennings, theyve not won many midfield battles this season, i`d go

fonners

thompson donacien ihekwe

jennings

green power laird

hume

odejayi

No defensive cover out wide? Very vunerable there to me if you listen to micky today. Saying they put lots of crosses in we could be exposed the reason why i thought we should go with the 2 established wing backs.

your forwards and your 5 in midfields job is to stop the ball going out wide in the first place, close down there full backs and dont allow there central midfielders to get there heads up and pass it out wide, thats what they`ll do if you stand off them like weve been doing far to often this season, my teams looks solid and with green, hume, odejayi (ish) and power there is a goal threat

Are we playing with 10 men from the start?

3-5-2. Then depending on what's happening keep the wide players where they are or drop them back 10-15 yards and if needs be either drop one of your central midfielders forward 10-15 yards, or back 10-15 yards, depending on whether the opposition are offering you a bit of extra space in their third, or pressing you high and you need another body back sometimes to deal with it.

Tranmere could possibly start with Hume and Donnelly and possibly experiment with green in behind.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

Results at around the 70 minute mark looked great for us, but none of them turned out like that. If we were 4 points clear we'd probably be saying this was a great point, but it feels a bit like a defeat now. Keep on fighting and hoping we can pick up points.

I take it most of those yet again slating Dugdale weren't even at the game?!

Brezovan was at fault for the goal after shouting, coming out and missing it completely. After that he made a few good saves but I have to laugh at people who probably weren't even there blaming one player for an early goal! Hilarious!

Fonners back in on Monday I'd hope!

This afternoon felt like one of those last day of the season affairs.Just hope the last day of the season isn't the same.

At the end it could have been worse but it could have been so much better.

Hopefully Luton will be reeling from a last minute home defeat and we can capitalise on it on Monday.

A decent draw, but the equaliser feels more like a kick in teeth, whereas had it been Tranmere equalising, the point would felt more relieving.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

I take Deadly's point about the first goal but yet again the goals have come from a failure to defend set pieces. It is a constant feature of our games. Hopefully, in a game or two Hill will come in both to aid our capacity to defend set pieces and to use his experience to better Marshall the back line

My previous post wasn't so much a defence of our defence (so to speak) but just a response to the almost immediate reaction and ridiculous notion that Dugdale was to blame when some of those saying it probably weren't even there.

I agree that the defending is key to our downfall (their second goal proved that as much as anything else) but you can't blame just one player as many seem to be doing with Dugdale.

If I was wanting to be picky having just watched the highlights, you could argue he was partly at fault for the second goal too although I'm not sure how much he knew about it when it first came in.

Just watched highlights keepers fault for both goals first goal was easy to catch for any goalkeeper my 10 year old could have done better

I agree the first goal was his fault but who was marking him. Second goal was the sort of goal you conceded when your down there. First off, was never a corner, second we switched off as a result and third it just fell to the feet of their player and he put it in. Still, it's a point I never thought we'd get and one closer to staying up.
