Further reaction from James Norwood and Manager Gary Brabin after Norwood’s signing yesterday….

After signing on a two-year deal with Tranmere yesterday, striker James Norwood has expressed his delight at becoming part of the future at Prenton Park as Rovers look to get back into the Football League as quickly as possible.

Speaking to Tranmere Player, the 24 year-old said…

"I'm really happy to be here and really happy to work under Gary. He's a great Manager, he was at Cambridge and Luton and did well there so I'm happy to be playing for him. I spoke to Gary a couple of times before I came up and he told me the role within the team he wants me to play and that suits me perfectly so I'm looking forward to it.”

"It's a massive club, which has been shown to me over the past couple of days of being here. It's a great challenge. I wasn't really aware of how big the club was, but I've seen the Stadium and the plans for the future and it's all really exciting.”

"I think I'm a goalscorer, I work hard to get in behind defences and just be a nuisance for 90 minutes. I love pressure, I like the pressure of having to try and score goals, having to play well and I think I thrive on that. If you do well at a big club, it gets noticed and the fans appreciate you more and it's great."

Newly appointed Rovers Manager Gary Brabin also expressed his delight at bringing Norwood to the Club as he told Tranmere Player…..

"He was my top target. He's a player who I've watched over the last few years and he's somebody who I think has the ability to play at a higher level.”

“He's a gutsy player, he works hard and has a great attitude. One of things I said when I came in is that I want to see a bit more fight in the team and I think he has certainly got that, but he scores goals as well.”

"I think it's a real coup for the club and I think it's a fantastic move for the lad. There were a lot of people who were interested in him and we've had to work hard to entice him here so we're glad to say we've got him.”

"He scores goals, he works hard and he's part of what we want to bring to the club. Hopefully he can achieve that target of scoring 20 goals because he has the potential to do that. We've managed to achieve this signing but we're not going to stop there because we can't rely on just one person to score goals but James is certainly a part of that."
