I must admit, just looking at the top scorers stats, there can't be many teams in the past who are second in a league table, with no top scorers on a list of 25 players.
If anyone who didn't know the situation and hadn't seen the league table saw that, they might think Tranmere were average.
Hopefully the goal scorers will keep coming in abundance so 2-3 players can get on that list soon to accurately reflect the good form the team is having.
Halifax are bottom and even one of their players makes that list in 7th, which I bet doesn't happen that often.
Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.
Got straight off a plane from miami to catch my first game this season. I have seen faster moving manatees over the last few weeks than anything that first half. No one is playing well, no urgency either and Boreham look like they are there for the taking
Wow that was really bad. Let's hope they learn alot from that. Blissett s presence indicates it's route one all the way if he plays again. No width, desire or quality today. Boreham were comfortable, if poor too, all game we got outfought

What can I say. Absolutely abysmal. They wanted it more but more importantly were prepared to fight for it more. Our formation didn't work the strike force was non existent, midfield totally outfought. They were comfortable got right at us and we had no answer.
ok we have no right to win every game in this league, but today that was an awful display by every tranmere player and Brabin got the tactics wrong too, lets move on from this game and win the next one
What have I just witnessed. Absolutely awful. Players out of position, no width or natural wingers. Margetts looked tired. They defended for their lives and deserved it. Why we've loaned a striker when we desperately need wingers has puzzled me.

totally agree there's no plan b although it was awful I'm not one for shouting cr@p at the players just don't think it's worth while I did have a chuckle to myself as the same people around me shouting for Cole to f*** o** wanted him on. On to the next game
At half-time despite the 0-0 scoreline I felt we were never losing that game but just as we did at Gateshead the defence switched off for the goal and from that point onwards we instead never looked like even drawing!

there was a plan B hoof it up to the big guy upfront who's been at the club a matter of hours. Problem was we didn't have the quality to hit him or the awareness to play off him

not to that extent. Bringing on a tall striker taking off a midfielder and changing formation is in my book a plan B. a plan that didn't even nearly work

he might of changed formation but that was it we still Hoofed it so in my eyes all game
Ridehalgh and Harris tried their best .... Maynard made very little contribution ... Very very poor performance .. The quality of the passing was dreadful

Plan A seemed to be v to hoof it up front too.
agreed hoots
im pretty sure that was not the intention to start. That was quite obvious watching the first half. Now if bringing on a different type of striker, taking off a midfielder and changing your formation and game plan is not what is known as a 'plan B' I've been obsessed with the wrong game for the last 35 years
Never seen Tranmere lose to a non league team before. I have now. I know it was always going to happen, but today was excruciating. At 0-0 we didn't look like we were going to lose until the baffling substitution and change of formation to 4-3-3, which led to the goal. The game was crying out for more width, but instead of Mekki for Maynard (memo to GB - Maynard is not a winger), we get Blisset (who should have been brought on for Margetts), and Rides moved into central midfield. After that, we could have played til midnight and not troubled their goal. It makes you wonder what they do in training all week.
I was a bit surprised that Brabin swapped Ridehalgh and Maynard around from where they played against Halifax.Ridehalgh was much better last Tuesday on the right and Maynard should not be played on the left or right but in the middle. I think that Brabin is upsetting the balance of the team by accommodating Maynard at all costs but in his wrong position. We won't IMO improve in midfield while he continues to do so.
Having said that,it was still 0-0 when Maynard was subbed,so we can't blame him for the result.
The substitution was pivotal. Jennings and Harris play just in front of the back four. This gives us clean sheets but few goals. 433 made us weak defensively and no better up front. For years we've never been able to capitalise on a big centre forward winning headers. We need a pacy winger or two but there are clearly not any around at our level.
The thing is, we have wingers. Maynard isn't a winger, and should be fighting with Harris and Jennings to be in the centre of midfield.
Assuming we are playing 4-4-2, we need 2 wide midfielders, in our squad we have 4, Mekki, Ridehalgh, Kirby and Norwood (spent most of his time at Forest green on the wing).
At the minute I think brabin is trying to find the best formula with so many new players, the problem is, a few are out of position.
Ihiekwi isn't a RB, we don't actually have a recognised RB in the squad (3 centre backs that can play there doesn't count).
It's all fine tuning that's needed, and I think 2 more players (RB and winger). He needs to pick a system and stick with it. Like Mike Bassett once said. Today we will play four four @#$%& two.
We were always going to lose and draw matches. It's how we come back that matters most.
Very poor, Maynards not winger and ridehalgh is so one footed all he can do is press down on to the left side and whip it across.
Yesterday was crying out for width, Harris and Jennings are too similar (or being given too similar role) the midfield was always miles away from supporting the strikers, and Ihekwe try as he might, isn't a natural right back (or crosser of the ball).
No real bright points in a that performance other than a tenacious one from Harris, Brabin first off down the tunnel at the whistle didnt instil much confidence either
The points made about width are key for me. Jennings plays best when he spreads the ball. He's not a a dynamic driving midfielder, that's what Harris does, but at the moment he's not really got anyone to pass it to and he's ineffective anyway because we are largely bypassing midfield.
Maybe we should tuck Maynard in a bit alongside Harris, with Jennings behind. Allow the two to get forward and Jennings to hold. Play one attacking midfielder wider as a supply line, Norwood I imagine when fit.
It's a bit lob-sided but might be a more effective use of our players than what we are doing.
I think if we are being honest we have'nt played well in the last three games. It was hoof ball and it did'nt work.We lack a creative midfielder. If you look at the goal against Halifax that was scored because we went through their defence instead trying to go over it.The most worrying thing for me is that we've only scored one goal in the last three games.I did'nt boo at the end but I did'nt clap them off either.
Welcome to the conference. Sorry to say but some of these part time clubs are well capable of playing you, us at chester and Grimsby ect.
This league is not easy to
A) get out of
Get a string of wins together
